Some of the side quests shine a LOT of light on the story. Amnesia is the first one I can think of, and that isn’t available until Route B.

That being said, I agree with the sentiment that these two games are likely very different (disclaimer: have not played Zelda, not that interested in it). Nier is practically a

They should really be seen as the end of chapters or routes, not endings. A shortfall in the determination of titles.

Yes, there is endurance and also endurance co-op. I’ve done the former, but not the latter. Not sure what the activity is there, but it seems like it could be a lot of fun.

I need to try Cold Darkness and Lara’s Nightmare sometime in the future, those are the two parts of the DLC I didn’t get to before FF XV and Nier:

Going to try to finish up the GotY, Nier: Automata. One real ending, one joke ending, and couple of quests are all I have left. What a ride. What a game.

I heard some stores in NYC were jumping the release date.

You and me both. What. A. Game.

The DLC add-ons are a lot of fun as well. Endurance mode is very cool, the Baba Yaga adventure was a ton of fun, and Croft Manor is something completely different from the game. Well worth the pick-up.

I think I randomly had a Shock Wave +4 at the time, so that was really helpful.

I think the only way I finished that stage was to revive one of the androids that always seem to be there and to jump like crazy. Ha.

Valid point! Just happy to hear you are enjoying the game.

They had some hilarious NieR stuff in there this week. I will never not love the video of 2B not jumping into her flight suit, but taking off like she did.

My main frustration throughout the game has been the partner AI: too many times I'll be jumping onto a small platform, only to have 9S knock me off said platform; there's is a section in the forest where this becomes particularly frustrating, as you have to backtrack a bit to start over.

I have seen your thoughts, I thought they were very valid. The game is not perfect (haven't come across one yet), but it's very very very good at what it tries to do, I think.

Be forewarned, a few side quests are character-exclusive.

NieR: Automata.

Gotcha. Although, in FF XV, by the time you get to the later parts of the game, you can pretty much end every non-boss battle with warp strikes until dead. It's the new 'hold down attack button' of the RPGs of yore, haha.

Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

You have a ton of surprises waiting for you as well, haha.

From what I understand, they are going this route for the remake. I never enjoyed the original, so I'm ambivalent on this.

That's the first thing people need to learn: don't mash buttons, hold them down. Takes a little bit of getting used to.
