I don’t have the energy to put any more effort into this than reading that linked Newsweek article about Pratt MAYBE being a Trump supporter... By virtue of implicitly - AND explicitly - being apolitical or at least nonpartisan is just absurd and just reminds me that Twitter is just a cesspit of idiots.

And yet:

Super Mario Bros wasn’t an arcade game.

Read a book is the perfect answer. Unfortunately, I haven’t read a paper book since I bought my first tablet in 2010. I usually fall asleep reading my tablet. But my sleep quality and quantity are both excellent.

“put your phone away an hour or two before bed” - So what the hell are we supposed to do an hour or two before bed then? Stare at the ceiling? :)

In short, go ahead and use Night Mode to help you wind down in the evening

Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I have to imagine if you’re putting yourself in that situation, you’re probably not smart enough to think of a solution like that.

Your use of rock quotes around the word “insurance”, coupled with your statement that you used to work there, makes me never want to get “insurance” from the place you used to work when I have rental needs.

Imagine the vibrations sitting in a truck crammed under a bridge as a train crosses the bridge.

That was a huge gamble for Rivian and full power to them for going for it and getting the trucks ready in time. I doff my hat to the Engineers (and the ones at Harley) who must have been pulling crazy hours to get them finished and shipped knowing that the whole thing would be part of a documentary.

Agree 100%. Rivian has a lot of balls to basically turn over pre-production units and have them tested in what is arguably one of the most rugged environments in the world. And they beat on those trucks!  Combine that with a lack of true charging stations (how much of that network did Rivian complete before the

i found the note on the regen braking to be the most fascinating...this is a wild variable to introduce into the future of racing and range management.

Yeah, I would keep a generator in the truck going out anywhere remote, Fiskar has a pretty good setup for the real world. I would prefer to have a built in small generator for this rather than carry my Honda around.

This. I’d say watch the series, and that’s the first “off-road review” of the Rivian. The fact they basically finished the prototypes and shipped them off to the bottom of the world - and they made it back (I’m assuming - I’m only on episode 4) is remarkable.

Came here to say this. In one middle-of-nowhere segment they hired a passing truck driver to drag them down the road awhile so they could tow-charge enough juice to get them to that day’s destination. Plus they could charge the Harley bikes directly from the Rivian batteries for a quick top-up.

Hi! Amy from Rivian here- I’m our PR Director. Emme was using a pre-production battery pack with limited capacity, and our engineers tracked vehicle performance in real time. In a production vehicle with our medium-sized pack, you should expect at least 220 miles of range in conditions this difficult- and we’re

I’d have to say the months the two RT-1's spent on Long Way Up have more than proven Rivian’s off road prowess. They got probably one of the best beta tests they could have possibly asked for. Also given production schedules involved this all happened a year ago now so Rivian’s been able to incorporate all that data

The Rivians used on “The Long Way Up” had some shakedown issues for sure including lots of problems with extreme cold, but overall they worked. Pretty impressive technology.
