Zany!

Who the heck waters a christmas tree?

This business model of letting gullible rich customers die of preventable illnesses seems short-sighted.

In real life I am much more of a listener and less of a talker. The internet has let us all invert that, perhaps to everyone’s detriment.

In the last few months I’ve cancelled and deleted more posts and tweets than ever before. I’m starting to recognise when I’m just talking to be heard.

Yeah, I usually am. Though like anyone, I can get defensive.

Speaking as a male internet dork, I do find it difficult not to express one of my half-formed opinions on things I really have no direct experience with. It’s not only fun to participate, but sometimes I truly think I have a point worth making. I really should learn to step back and not say a lot of the dumb ideas I

Never. I don’t like that word at all.

Imagine if you took Person Of Interest, removed all the violence, removed all the brooding charisma, removed all the science-fiction technology, and instead rooted it all in a more realistic setting with slightly more realistic tech, with stock characterisation tropes.

You may need to make your own calendar. Sexy Sewage Treatment Worker. Sexy Mountaineer. Sexy Science Assistant. Sexy Building Custodian. Sexy Lighthouse Keeper. Sexy Undertaker.

I loved that show.

Ironically* the Jeremy Piven show Wisdom Of The Crowd has adopted the “ripped from the headlines” approach to its storylines. We’ll see how that goes.

The problem with Powerless was that every actor seemed to be in a different show. Alan Tudyk was in a Jerry Lewis movie, Vanessa Hudgens was in a superhero version of Gilmore Girls, while Danny Pudi was bored waiting for something funny to be written at last.

Judging by the image in the article there were scenes from that b-plot cut out.

I liked it. But then I wasn’t desperately trying to spot any of the in-jokes that this article is obsessing over. I had no idea who the guest stars were so I had no expectations.

Trump’s grammar is fine, if simplistic. It’s his lack of vocabulary that is risible.

She may have popularised it. Some people would argue that’s credit enough.

I don’t have a problem with Apu myself, it’s an exaggerated character in a cartoon, established a long time ago. It’s easy to find reason to pick on the minor details and claim it’s horrible, but context matters, and there’s a lot of context. I find him a sympathetic character, the source of humour more often as he is

“You are a very stupid man, and I do not want to talk to you anymore.”
