Came here to say this. You get a star.

favorite thing of the day is seeing all the triggered dudes below crying about the photo caption. Gold.

lol and here i am thinking i might’ve been the only one who thought they were the GTI austin rims. Cheers

Oh jeez! Helluva story. Best of luck resolving the fill-station issues.

If i can rent one of these next time i’m in the UK, best believe i’ll be chucking this around b-road corners. Looks like it’d be a blast there.

i’m not mad at it. The front end refresh isn’t done terrible (maybe close the bonnet gap a bit). Lose the terrible rims from that last photo and put some OEM 19s-20s from Audi/VW and this car would be a winner.

100% Agree. Or states that have safety inspections (*cough*every state should have them *cough*), make those safety recalls mandatory for pass. No recall performed? Rejection sticker. 30 days on the clock to get it fixed (which is free at dealerships). In VA, reinspection is included in cost of state inspection if

Came to say this page needs more plugs for LaLD.

Listened to all of tempest (tuned in every week Tues or Wednesday). Quite enjoyed every bit of it. I went to looking to see if there was one this week to listen to but realized i had missed this post saying it was the last one. Hope you do more, these were great to listen to.

No spare. Because weight reduction. #becauseracecar

DSC has done a killer paint job on this thing. Good on em.

This is clearly the first owner of Garth’s Garthmobile (maybe Garth’s parents in their younger days?)

To be fair, i thought the same thing before reading the article.

Commenting mostly to confirm interest of a VW ute.

Amazing read about an amazing person. Truly a story that will stick with me for quite some time. Thank you.

It makes sense because of all those reasons you mentioned. They realize it’s difficult to put them in newer models, and old models are cool right now, so ramp up production on the easier wins, old models looking for more functionality.

Yeah, this is particularly a VW engineer thing to do. Torx bits are considered the “safe for joe public to mess with more than likely” while the triple squares are the “Are you sure you know what you are doing” fastener.

Also confirmed: Small car racing needs to be a bigger thing.

RPF1 improves looks of all cars: Confirmed.

Thought of the moped clubs of some of the east coast cities when i saw them. There’s likely a lot of crossover there.
