and now that you mention LeCar, i hope there is someone perusing engineswapdepot for a leCar with a busa swap or something ridiculous like that. We need more of that out there.

Sorry to hear ya missed the record but still so cool you got to chase it once again. I have been listening to your interview on smoking tire this week and that combined with this makes an excellent one-two punch of your experience. Thanks for sharing!

Just think, that was Matt’s own gear and not just from a studio’s wardrobe.

if the GTE was available stateside, i’d likely have the handle GTE sprinks right now. As it works out, it isn’t and instead i’m happy with my GTI, and perhaps in another year or so i’ll scoop a mk7 or mk7.5 e-golf for pennies.

i loved the super turbo episodes they did. 10/10 from mahrty and moog.

for some reason, the NOAA tag still present on the upper left makes it that much funnier.

as someone who also has a roof rack, roof basket, bike rack, and an active lifestyle, i can say on a good summer i can use it once a week. On a summer with a pandemic, less than once a month/every 3 months.

Come winter time, i can say all those roof racks with kayak/canoe attachments are pretty fucking pointless, no Read more

yeah, i’ve never quite understood people not taking off their roof racks. Like, i understand some cars have them built in via rails and such, but most are add-ons and readily removable in under 10 minutes.

Just shows really how little most people want to deal with things and why options like seasucker work for many.

as someone who owns and plays car mechanic sim 2018, this is of interest to me. It was fun but definitely clunky and repetitive. i’d be intrigued by more of a deep dive like wrench is offering.

They already know that and won’t be releasing the id3 stateside. NAR will get the id4 electric crossover. Canada might get the id3.

Buy the $1000 spare, start rebuilding the numbers matching one. You’ll have a running vehicle you can enjoy, and an engine you can put together and repair at your own (and your wallet) manageable pace.

Yeah, the 3.6 vr6 definitely takes the cake for that immediate low-end torque (and wookie noises :D ) but i dunno. Seems like throwing in “sport” on something inherently unsporty powertrain-wise seems bad. Then again, i also think the same thing can be said for “turbo” on things without turbos (or ICEs) but i don’t Read more

i don’t understand why they’re putting the gti sized turbo (is20) into the cross sport and leaving the golf r turbo (is38) on the table. Seems like first thing i’d do owning this thing is flash tune to stage 1 to at least match the power near the bigger turbo, but really at the end of the day the ea888 engine shines Read more

Lower it, and then it’s a proper electric hatchback that we all want. :D

I bet these will grow in interest as the value bottoms out on them and people entertain drivetrain swaps to make them either full electric or some other standard ICE drivetrain (z4 gte v8? yes please:
