I am not sure if it deserves to make the list or not, but Hotel Transylvania was way better than any Adam Sandler movie had any right to be. And I have said many times that Mavis and Johnny’s relationship is the best (and least gross/creepy) vampire/human relationship I have ever seen in any movie or TV show.

You used to be able to get Anchor Steam here in Ontario and at one point it was the most expensive 6 pack on liquor store shelves. Now it is shelves full of single cans of NEIPA’s from breweries I have never heard of. Half the time when I buy beer I spend 10 minutes starting at all of them and realizing I don’t have

Are you saying that Taylor Swift is really Taylor Glumplich.

This also feels like a self fulfilling prophecy kind of thing. Like studios start making fewer comedies. So comedy writers start doing more TV. So then you get some really good, funny TV shows. And now we’re at a point where if you are like Brett Goldstein or Tina Fey or Jermaine Clement why would you bother trying to

The other big thing is that even as the population grows and new markets open up there are still only 52 weeks a year. So only 52 Fridays to release a movie. Combine that with the fact that opening weekend numbers are so important, since being the #1 movie is a big deal for marketing and because opening is when

It seems kind of weird that in the first paragraph it talks about how these kinds of awards are not historically kind to women. But then the second paragraph talks about the crazy number of VMA’s Taylor Swift has won in her career, including a record setting 3 Video of the Year awards.

Ioved them too. But if you look back at say 1986 which I think is the year I saw Police Academy 3 for my birthday there isn’t a single animated kids movie in the Box Office Mojo top 20. Thirty years later in 2016 there was 7. That is a lot more theatre space taken up by those movies, and a lot more studio money

I am not sure it is fair to lay all the blame at Marvel. Sure Marvel and super hero movies are a big part of the issue, but at the same time so are animated kids movies. I was a kid in the 80's and back then you got lots of classic comedies but maybe 1 or 2 animated kids movies a year that weren’t Disney re-releases.

Unionizing the on set workers kind of makes sense. But if the post production workers were to unionize wouldn't the risk be that you would end up with a ton of that work being done overseas? I mean back when hand drawn animation was still a thing, isn't that why a ton of it (including things like 100's of episodes of

I would say Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work was a pretty big miss when it comes to revealing documentaries. I wouldn't even really call myself a fan of hers but I thought it was super interesting.

When you are casting deformed European aristocrats who else would you get?

I love Tina Fey’s story in her book about that 30 Rock episode. It was basically the last episode produced as part of the order for the first half of the first season. The ratings weren’t great so they didn’t know if they would be picked up for the rest of the season. There was a debate among the writers if they

Wouldn’t the simple way be to just charge everyone that $337 per year as part of their registration, to cover roads and other infrastructure maintenance. Then on top of that have a gas tax at some level to cover the environmental costs of using fossil. fuel

I have never actually seen Bohemian Rhapsody, but if you are going to have a movie about a real life celebrity who dies of an incurable disease the Pride of the Yankees seems like it would be a good choice.

Has it only been that long. My wife and I saw Wicked in London on our honeymoon back in 2009 and it seemed like even by that point it had been established as a hugh Broadway hit.  Even though I am not a fan of musicals it seems like a Wicked movie coming out in like 2010 would have made a lot more sense than 2024.

Killed by notorious drug cartel leader, Madonna.

Yea I didn’t love that movie but having it on the list because it isn’t historical is like having Weird: The Al Yankovic Story on this list for the same reason. Because if you are going to make a movie about someone like Barnum one option is to do a super accurate thing and the other is to go over the top circus specta

I liked Ms. Marvel way more than I thought I would. But it would have been so much better if they didn't bother with the super powered villains or government agents she was fighting against.

I saw the Live Aid setlist on social media last week and although I had known it was big, I never knew how stacked it was with legendary artists. I wonder if there are even enough big rock acts today to do even one equivalent concert like that, much less two on the same day. Or if it would mostly be bands that were at

Well he must have noticed before that right, since he hired the mercenaries to hijack the SHIELD ship.
