TOTK leans into photography in pretty similar ways. Quests to photograph stuff, a bestiary you fill out with pictures, and so forth. I was reminded a lot of BGE playing it.

Not everything is a live service, it’s ok to be done with a game.

I would argue against OoT being a sequel. It’s in the series, but it does not directly follow anything. Majora’s Mask and ToTK are definitely sequels, though.  

The thing is, most 3D games from that time period had the same issues as OoT, because 3D gaming was still in it’s infancy.

Not a bad choice, and highlights the difficulty of choosing between A) biggest *improvement* or B) best *current sequel* in the franchise... I like Vice City a lot more, for example but it’s just a small evolutionary step from GTA3.

The Best Ongoing Game category was kinda off this year. WoW came back in a big way as well, but Destiny 2 and Cyberpunk were in there taking up slots. I get that Cyberpunk has come a long way, but it wasn’t designed to be an ongoing game.  You shouldn’t win an award for launching a broken game and then fixing it.

Its not like steamdeck excels at those huge games tho. People are more likely to play smaller indie games with a couple of the confirmed working well “big” games. 

Parental control features are incredibly easy to get around.

And ultimately this goes back to personal responsibility, which is at the heart of any addiction.
