I’m old enough to remember the polling that showed there would be a red wave ahead of the 2022 midterms.

Polls at this point are just doomsdayism plus gobbledygook numbers. That said, these numbers do tell us that only retired Boomers are some of the only ones responding to these polls. Back to your usual news!

Not me. DD is my favourite MK to this day. I like the character-specific items, and incentivizes choosing a good combination of two characters for whichever race you’re going into.  And it never felt right to me going back to only one character in the subsequent entries...

The two-player piece hasn’t continued on because, unlike other innovations, it really wasn’t purposeful and didn’t add much. It was visually neat and I did play some 8-player games with the goofy two people per kart.

I loved Double Dash and played a TON of it on the Gamecube, but I almost never did the co-op mode. If I were playing with someone, we each had our own kart and our own two racers (strategically chosen not just for weight but also for special item choices - mine were Bowser Jr and Paratroopa). Something I’ve noticed about Mario Kart (and kart racers in general really) is that despite looking identical the gamefeel varies dramatically from each to the next. So if, say, MKDS was your preferred entry, then all the others just feel a bit off.

Yeah, it’s even a defining feature.

I bought that game because proceeds were going to displaced Ukrainians at the start of that war, for a limited time. I never played it but I bought it. lol

For better and worse, MS has thus far mostly left their large acquisitions to their own devices. Given Zenimax was/is a terribly run company, that seems like a pretty major failure on their part. ActiBlizz is waaaaaay too early to say. That’d be like judging Sony’s acquisition of Bungie a year ago. Who could know.…
