My only conclusion to all this is that Kojima has somehow brainwashed people into believing he’s some brilliant auteur when really he’s a very mediocre man with extremely mediocre ideas trying his damndest to make movies and being forced to make video games instead.

I adore MGS as a series, and I still feel like this assessment is totally fine and something you may have arrived at even after playing 100s of hours of each installment. Kojima is a goofball with sparks of brilliance, but also someone who seems to hold his ideas as beyond criticism — despite not fully caring about

I was interested in MGS V before Quiet’s reveal. I had never played MGS before and was curious about it. And then the director, who I had never heard of before that, said that people should be and would be ashamed of themselves for questioning his genius about Quiet’s outift, and I immediately lost interest.

I totally agree with him. I loved Gears 1-3, but at this point can not give a single fuck about the series or keep track of all the plot convolutions (I have played 4 and 5, on sale).

Might still be my personal GOTY, even with everything else out.  I hope they have a physical release one day.

I didn’t like her screenplay either! I just don’t think a movie of it was ever going to work the way the book did. The surprises in the book worked because of the narration “trick,” and they failed to find a strategy to have a similar impact on screen so it really turned into a different concept entirely. But I’m glad

It was a fun, clever beach read, but no masterpiece. But I agree that he really flubbed the movie adaptation due to what felt very much like an utter misunderstanding.

You aren’t wrong 2.0 brought in some weird stability, but I managed to figure it out in my case.

Granted, I can’t enjoy the Raytracing features, but I’m having no problems with my 3060 ti smashing out the game on almost all settings at least on high (Volumetric fog and crowd density I had to keep on medium though, my

apparently if it has the bare minimum of “experience” and “levels” and “multiple dialogue options” it’s an RPG by today’s standards. which is comedy platinum.

It was very much worth playing already at 1.5. I had a blast with my first playthrough which was ~130 hours and am on my 2nd playthrough to experience everything thats’s new. 2.0 changed a lot and made it even more fun.

He misunderstood Fight Club completely. It doesn’t glorify toxic masculinity, it decries it and considers it a side effect of late stage capitalism. And yes, that’s an oversimplification.

Seriously? You refuse to play ANY first-person game?

I like Panic Room and The Game, but better than Fight Club? Laughable. Gone Girl?? Ridiculous. A reviewer for this site just gave The Killer a C+ and it’s apparently better too.

I don’t disagree with the criticisms about “The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo”, but the issues come mainly already in the novel.

Fight Club at 9 is completely baffling. Like let’s be real, Fight Club is not a worse movie than Panic Room. Insane

It's a white guy.

Who is it?

Johnson is a fascist religious extremist, and you can fuck right off with your lies about AOC.

I’d say the launch PS3 was more of a Toyota Sienna with all the damn ports it had. 4 USB ports, SD card, Compact Flash, and Sony’s proprietary Memory Stick. The engine description is hilariously accurate though.

At the same time, MGS4 was designed for the PS3... which means it is probably going to be hell to port in the first place given that the console was the equivalent of a Kia Soul with an engine kitbashed from a Lamborghini and Stingray
