Have you seen Jaal? And talked with him? I mean come on...

I guess you’re not familiar with the Mass Effect audience.

To my knowledge Heather didn’t write those articles. So I don’t see how another author’s stance on Andromeda is relevant to her’s on Zelda and Nier. She didn’t make arguments about all three games, and you’re lumping disparate critical views together. Kotaku is not a monolith. All of the writers don’t think the same.

I missed where Heather talked about Mass Effect. Maybe your comment is a tad off topic.

It’s weird. I think of most Nintendo games as perfect for gamers and non-gamers alike. They have great intuitive design that evens out the learning curve. Breath of the Wild is the first that strikes me as a game that non-gamers might not enjoy, that requires a lot of patience and perseverance. Simply having to deal

That works too. I think that’s how I fought one the first time because there was a lightning storm at the same time and it was too risky to pull out my metal bow. But I will say that shooting him in the eye can make things a bit quicker. It takes a chunk out of his health when you do.

I’m of the opinion that nothing is this game is ever a disappointment, no matter what point you’re at. And that island isn’t really affected by where you’re at in the game. You should check it out.

Have you encountered Hetsu once so far? If you found him outside the Dueling Peaks Stable (up the mountain path) he’ll move to another location before moving on to the Korok village. If you take the main road toward Hyrule Forest north east of the castle he should be outside the Woodland Stable. Those extra weapon

Lol, sounds like Chaas Qeta.

Yeah, it is the effect of looking at the slate. The only way to save an image on the slate is to screen cap the slate, which has those lines over everything. It’s kind of a shame there isn’t a better way to get the images that are on the slate off via another method (like accessing the file directly).

Ah, I didn’t have the Gerudo power the first time. I ended up at Ganon by accident while I was farming the castle for gear. I figured it was safe to walk down the hall prior to the final chamber to look for hidden items. Turns out it triggers the fight about half to two thirds down the hall. I enjoyed the fight

I hear that. Spend those korok seeds on some weapon slots, if you haven’t already.

That’s fair. But once you get that timing down, you’ll wonder why you did anything else ;-)

Yeah, Hinoxes are pushovers once you have that timing down, and they carry two weapons and a bow. Eventually you’ll find that they carry Royal gear or better, which is decent.

Now that I think about it I think the Chaas Qeta guardian drops an axe, sword and spear, not shield.

...that is unless there is another way than deflecting, which I’m unaware of.

I climb and float a lot. I also picked up the full Zora gear which makes swimming a breeze. But rafts are super useful.

You can do it!. Shoot him in the eye with an arrow and then attack. If he holds his hand up to block his eye just wait for him to swipe at you. If he uses both hands at once do a back flip. If only one hand, dodge sideways to avoid. Once he misses you it’s easy to ping him in the eye with an arrow. He’ll fall over and

I save them for tight spots, where a group of three or more guardians make it difficult to time all of the deflects. Also boss fights really don’t require ancient arrows. They sees easy enough that ancient arrows would take any fun out of the fight.

I suppose. I’d rather save them for a really tight spot where there are multiple guardians that are firing their beams out of sync (thus preventing a multi-beam deflect). If you hunt them enough that type of scenario happens in some locations. Sometimes you can deal with them via line-of-sight positioning, but
