Yup, Chaas Qeta Shrine. I climbed to the highest point on the coast and glided there. I needed to use stamina replenishment to make it, but I made it. I also laughed when I realized there was a raft. The two guardian weapons and shield that dropped were the most amazing things I’d seen up to that early point in the

If you deflect correctly the shield takes zero damage. Just firing the bow causes wear and tear on the bow. Deflecting attacks uses zero resources, to the point that new shields continue to register as new even after a beam deflect. Just time it correctly and you’ll never lose a shield.

It’s a good moment. you go from running away from tougher enemies, to relishing the blood moon just so you can hunt them all down again.

I fell you. The second combat shrine I stumbled on, with only four hearts to my name, was a major test of strength. That was a satisfying win.

But it’s so easy to deflect the stalker’s beam. Why waste your arrows?

That also seems like a waste.

How did you deflect Ganon’s beam attack then? He’s invulnerable until you do.

Just dodge to trigger flurry attacks. Lynels become super easy to take down. You can do it in under a minute once you’ve got it down.

It’s because it is a screen cap from the Shiekah slate image gallery. That’s the only way to get a selfie.

Because it’s fun and satisfying. Just stand a few guardian sized lengths away from the guardian wait until the circular blue particle effect appearnts, then parry. It should work.

Not if done right ;-)

I wouldn’t bother using ancient arrows unless you are in a really tight bind. It’s just a waste. The only guardians they are worth using on are the flying guardians, because the camera angle often makes it much harder to target and then deflect the flying guardian’s beam.

Ancient arrows can definitely one shot mobile guardians. It sounds like you are missing the eye. The only guardians that you can’t one shot with an ancient arrow are the turret guardians in Hyrule Castle. However, if you wear the upgraded Ancient Armor you’ll receive a boost to damage from all ancient weapon sources,

Killing that guardian was satisfying. I went back and took both guardians in that area once I knew that I could deflect their beam with a shield. Shame I didn’t realize that at the start. Next time...next time.

Agreed. It’s not great. The boss battle is fun though.

I’m not advocating it. Just stating what the game seems to do. You can’t save in the middle of any shrine puzzle. There are a few puzzles where saving mid progress can help you, but it’s rare.

“I actually really liked this mission”

I definitely agree loot drops are tied to progression, and not only chest drops. However, combat shrine types are not. They are fixed.

Agreed, they are location based. But you can easily reach most of them, including major tests as early as you like.

“I’m pretty sure the combat shrines scale off of your character progression. So the more heart pieces and stamina wedges you amass (and maybe other factors like total rupees collected or play time?), the harder those shrines get. You start out with Minor Tests, then move up to Moderate, then hit Major, which seems to
