Except it would be ugly.

The story is fine, it’s not particularly deep. It’s perfectly functional in being a serviceable backdrop to the game.

I’ve played it five times, including runs on both Tactician and Honour mode. I played it at launch, and then through several patches. Other than some performance issues that were resolved over time, and a brief save bug that required waiting for a patch to access recent saves, I never encountered any game breaking

Interview from August 2023 with Matthew ‘Leth’ Griffin, PR for Team Cherry. In the interview, among other things, he discusses playing a completed build of the game and that Team Cherry will announce a launch date when they are ready. The Xbox showcase date announcement was based on a date picked by MS based on a

High on Life and Atomic Heart were both on Game Pass, which likely boosted their successes. Mundfish claimed 5 million people played Atomic Heart, but how many of them were Game Pass users?

Add to that list the fact that it just wasn’t particularly a good game.

I own both and they each have their pros and cons. I will say that MS makes some baffling UI design decisions for a company that is usually vastly better at the software design game than Sony ever has been.

This segment of the game was available in the alpha, and I have to say it went a long way toward convincing me that I want to play the rest of the game.

We don’t know how many people pre-ordered the deluxe version.

Precisely this.

They sent out preview codes weeks ago. Multiple outlets previewed the game and even published their previews. They also conducted a fairly large alpha weekend during which the public was able to play and stress test the game. They also lifted the NDA allowing people who played that alpha to discuss the game publicly.

continued focus on “traversal”, i.e. getting from one place to another, is mind-boggling to me. Yeah, if it’s a pain to get around that can ruin a game, but making it a key selling point? What is that? It really seems like they know other aspects of the game are, to put it kindly... sub-par.

I’m with you. Literally within the first three words. There are some things he says that he can’t quite nail with his Indy impersonation and it ends up just sounding like one of his default characters.

That was because they didn’t want to manufacture two versions, one with a PS5 disc pack-in and one with a PS4 disc. I think we might see a change in this practice when games no longer launch on PS4.

Vincke directly address that in his tweets. He recognizes it’s good for some devs, he just doesn’t want other options to evaporate.

For ever person shouting “Git Gud” there are five that just quietly enjoy the design and challenge of the games and politely sharing that with other people who are enjoying the same thing.

The “cyber-attacks” is probably just how the dev is reframing criticism.

That’s fair. I prefer charging cradles in general because they usually charge multiple controllers on one USB port which maximizes devices charging while minimizing ports used, so I was just curious.

I’ll forever be partial to Cam “Leonardo” Clarke as Kaneda, lol.

I definitely prefer the Fox dub of Totoro, but that could partially be because that was what I was exposed to as a child. I prefer the Japanese audio now, but if I were to watch a dub, it would be the Fox version. It’s the same for Akira, I prefer the original dub that circulated in the 80s over the later remastered
