I agree with a lot of your points, but I actually liked this episode (it’s way better than the previous two episodes, at least). It was nice seeing Alice be vulnerable

I’m kind of hoping the Evil Chic thing is a swerve, but we’ll see.
I’m still baffled by Archie and Jughead’s planned 4th of July road trip from Season 1. How could they go on a road trip if they weren’t old enough to drive?
Didn’t Fred’s drunk driving conviction make it impossible for him to become Jughead’s foster father? Which still sort of sucks, but I don’t think makes him a monster...
I wouldn’t think too much of what clues the fashion gives us about what season it is. People were in spaghetti straps in the snow last year. TV is forever “it’s never too cold to wear as little as possible!”
They’re both daughters in families that seem to be perennially disappointed in them, despite them both beating expectations for what would usually be considered excelling for teenagers (Josie: singing, school(?); Cheryl: Vixens, school). Also, they’re both style leaders in a small school community, it would make sense…
I feel like the character Archie gets a lot of grief on the forums here for being a clueless jackass, and deservedly so. But KJ Apa does a nice job selling it. I loved how freaked out he was by the creepy deer, and yet he had to suppress that to deal with how freaked out he was by the need to complete the drug deal…
Not to get all Buzzfeed about it, but that little “S’up?” nod from the zombie deer gave me life.
Very happy with Sheriff Keller’s upgrade to thirst trap.
Whew that was a great episode. This show has blown so far out of the water my highest expectations for what an Archie show could be. Amazing. Incredible. So great Riverdale, Riverdale and you and me, great things, dark things, reaal dark things, just you and me and Betty and Veronica, the outside world is our enemy Riv…
“Out of the way, Bert and Ernie.”
I don’t think Cheryl exists on the good-evil spectrum at the moment. Every decision she makes right now is filtered through and has to be viewed through extreme Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, with all that entails.
*runs in out of breath* Would you guys say Josie is being Single Black Femaled?
Well I could see how Cheryl would be desperate to be attached to someone as her father murdered her brother and her mother doesn’t really care for her. She’s probably very lonely and doesn’t exactly come from a line of well adjusted people
if I had to pick one highlight other than genre legend Tony Todd, it would be Josie’s reaction to Pop wanting to see her at church
Brit Morgan as the snake charmer on this show is a scarier villain than she is with superpowers on Supergirl as Livewire.
I really miss the block function of Disqus, your posts were fucking made for it.
I for one, am pro “Toit Nups.”
The entire wedding vendor montage was full of a lot of sweet jokes about how well Jake and Amy know each other: Crossword Puzzle flower bouquets? Nakatomi Plaza wedding cake where the Groom is hanging off the buiding with a firehose? Yes to all of these.
“…............how dare you.” Done.
I think it’s less about making them the same character but more that they make each other better. He has helped her loosen up and get a little goofy - S1 Santiago would never have said ‘toit nups’ or considered a Nakatomi Plaza cake and she would have had a meltdown (complete with smoking) after the venue setback. I…
