Easy to picture Jackie saying that last line.

‘Where’s mom?’

And last nights episode had Roseanne castigating Darlene for not hitting her kids. We really do become our parents.

True. I would also include Speechless in the mix of good to great sitcoms that relate to a lot of woes that most families struggle with.

I personally don’t understand the angle that this show is the first one to come along in years that us regular folks can relate to.

Some more great music from that year:

Good points, and Roseanne herself is indeed an embarrassment. However, I can certainly believe Roseanne the character buying into in Trump’s vague notions of jobs and shaking things up. (I’ve heard plenty of people say that.) I can also see her being hypocritical in loving her mixed grandchild but making cracks about

Yeah, I don’t think this show is going to be a mouthpiece for Trump. So far, there was the confrontation between Roseanne and Jackie (which they put behind them because it beats not talking for a year), and a whole episode dedicated to supporting a kid who chooses not to adhere to gender norms in his clothing. It’s

That Wayne’s World scene is fantastic! It’s tied with Arrested Development’s use of Burger King for my favorite product placement.

It’s more than just an offhand comment, Wright has pretty consistently referred to them as a trilogy since Hot Fuzz came out and World’s End was in planning stages. They’re even sold as an official DVD box set under the title “Cornetto Trilogy”.

It’s reinforced by the fact that these three films have a lot of common elements throughout them. I guess I’ll take Cornetto Trilogy over “Genre subverting satire trilogy”.

Well I don’t think that’s quite fair, as even the references to colour in each film acknowledge this; Shaun is strawberry (red), Fuzz is classic (blue) and World’s End is green (mint).

I guess it’s also worth mentioning -for those that live outside the UK- that Somerfield is (well, was) a genuine supermarket chain, if you’re a fan of Hot Fuzz.

Just give him a Tab.

Robert Zemeckis is perhaps the most notorious filmmaker when it comes to product placement (Castaway could be read as a feature length commercial for Fed Ex), but one bit of product placement I do love is in Back to the Future when Marty attempts to order a Pepsi Free and the manager says “You want a Pepsi, you’re

If you’re hungry, eat a Clark Bar! And for class rings, it’s Jostens! GO JOSTENS!

Obligatory:

Speaking of Fresh off the Boat, the best line this week was Jessica’s slam against The Shining, the movie:

They mentioned it after they got Pepper

The best introduction to his music is Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers, and Bastards. I know a triple album seems like an odd place to start, but it really shows the breadth of his work from rock songs to ballads to weird genre experiments.
