Wow that’s a bummer..they cant even finish it out in their own time slot.

They’d be able to complete that school year in the district.

I hope this isn’t the series finale because having the show end w the family being evicted would be such a bummer - but points to the show for not neatly wrapping up that story thread. It would have been an easy out for the loan to come through at the last minute.

I wish this had gotten a full season - only 18 episodes is a crime, especially since they had the network mandated Star Wars tie in episode. At least if this is a series finale, it’s a sweet note to end on? TV By The Numbers has Speechless as Likely to Be Renewed now, it was a tossup a few weeks back. So assuming it

So I noticed that Roseanne is premiering next Tuesday at 8..which for one is making me upset realizing The Middle is really ending soon and also that Roseanne is replacing that show. Or is Roseanne moving to a new night after next week. Either way I do NOT approve.

I genuinely did not see it coming when they revealed Maya was behind it. I was expecting it to be one of the teachers. And yet that reveal told us something new about Maya. Well done, writers.

Every member of this family would rather tell ridiculous lies and go to unbelievable extremes to avoid having basic conversations with any other member of this family. I mean, when Jimmy lied to Dylan about the coyote on Speechless it was both funny (because the lie was so transparently half-assed) and touching

That final image of everyone out on the lawn was simultaneously funny, sweet, and heartbreaking. Dylan and Jimmy’s conversation in the crawlspace was some really beautiful father/daughter writing. The JJ plot was hilarious, sad, and a pretty scathing strike at tokenism. The Ray plot was intentionally silly but had a

Let’s talk about tonight’s episode of Speechless (The season finale, because ABC is evil). I don’t like TV seasons ending in March. It’s wrong.

Urgh, this kinjafied mess keeps making my computer screen freeze!

It is interesting that “The Middle” has handled the “older kids go to college” dilemma better than almost any show I’ve ever seen. It is quite plausible that they’d both go to a local branch of a public college that was close enough for visits home and it figured out how to branch out and show the lives of Axel and

The episode hit every emotional moment perfectly. I’m so happy that they aren’t taking the easy way out with Ray and Taylor, that they aren’t forcing them to make up, and that they aren’t belittling Taylor’s anger, either. I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle JJ’s friend if he is constantly quoting films in every

Yeah, Jimmy/Kenneth is a pretty reliable comedy pairing but they went unexpectedly poignant. I do like it, though, when we see moments of vulnerable Jimmy. His speech in the first season about the long list of things doctors told him JJ would never do is maybe the biggest tearjerker the show has done. You get how some

Okay, tonight’s episode of Speechless.

I like it when Phil gets to be an actual parent and not just a goofball - for me the best Phil moment of the series is him shutting down Haley’s whining as she’s facing expulsion from college - so points for being a good dad here. The Jay and Gloria plot did nothing for me. The whole piano thing felt like a Frasier

Yes!! I have loved The Middle since the first season and this last season has been pretty great. Completely agree with what you said about Brick in all the Colts gear. And because I’m a sap, I teared up when Sean told drunk, passed out Sue that she was worth waiting for.

Is there anywhere anyone is discussing The Middle? I’m loving this season so much.

I LOVE Brick/Mike plots..there hasn’t been enough of them. Also I really wish this Sue/Sean thing wasn’t drawn out the entire season...but breaking up with postmates guy is a step in the right direction.

AV Club: Modern Family hasn’t been funny in a few years. This episode was pretty good, I’ll grant you, but you should be covering The Middle’s last season. The shot of Brick silently confronting Mike in all of his Colt’s gear was amazing.
