On Vulture alone, there must be at least a dozen articles for each episode (in addition to regular recaps). o_O

Good one! :)

1979:

Ha! I was right on the female side. :D (On the male side, Peter is the only one that kinda surprises me.)

Just counting Springsteen songs, Mary has got to be one of the most-used female names (and possibly Maria, too)…

Kirsty MacColl had one, too! :)

That 'Gong Show' might have been originally intended to air this past Thursday, but ABC aired the second part of their 'The Story of Diana' special instead. :\

And seeing the Irish guy face-down in the toilet afterwards: "Hot damn, son, what did you eat?!" :)

I heard "Central Reservation" for the first time on a long time on NPR's 'World Cafe' the other day — good times. :) And "Stolen Car" was a great song/video.

I actually thought it WAS an old Jackson 5 song at first (previously unreleased but rescued from the mothballs and remixed for a soundtrack or new compilation or something). :D

Dear lord, I HATED the Spice Girls at the time! They just no escaping them. :p

Or 'My Dinner With Andre' action figures? :)

"I'm going home, and I'm gonna … bite my pillow is what I'm gonna do!" :D

My sister had that CD, so that song and "Change my pitch up / Smack my bitch up!" got a lot of play. :D

Moffat’s grown on me, with his childlike amazement at his brother setting the fidget spinner spinning making me laugh as much as anything else tonight.

Yup. :) (Good year for Kline, too, between this and 'The Ice Storm'!)

God, I loved 'In & Out.' "Was there, oh, ANY OTHER TIME YOU MIGHT'VE TOLD ME THIS?!" :D

Crap, I forgot about 'Donnie Brasco'! But yeah, I seem to recall that was one of many films I got to see at the dollar theater that year.

YES! I saw 'The Sweet Hereafter' on the big screen in early '98, and I caught 'The Apostle' on video later that year — great films. :)
