Chalk only costs $3,150.

The secret’s out: asking prices have doubled and tripled in the past few years. I saw a guy in my town driving a 550 recently and wanted to flag him down and say “hey man, you know that thing is worth a shit load of money now!” But maybe he doesn’t and maybe he’ll sell it for 2008 money...

I’m a Porsche-driving (okay Cayenne-driving) lawyer and I threw the $175 settlement offer in the garbage. What if I can afford a new GT-2 in 20 years and they see my name on the “took settlement cash” list?!

Is the “real” Top Gear not globally appealing as it is? Do we really need a niche ‘Merican Top Gear in 2017? The real one has an American and now we get a Brit? I hate to be such a cynic about decent car programming but I’m up to my ass in contrived story lines centered around vehicles at this point.

Steve Doocy*: “I heard Muslims often don’t wear wedding rings...”

And now he’s pissed about this article because he says it was off the record. So... a leak.

What I love about Trump is that he picks people for important jobs based on how they did in a Fox News panel he saw. His lawyers - charged with navigating some SERIOUS allegations, possibly even treason - are generally just injury guys from New York who sound tough.

There was some of that but also the Tax Man was calling...

Valuable lesson: always ask for labor compensation at various stages of completion.

Nah. But he did buy me several subsequent vehicles. We’ll call it even.

When I was 13 my dad bought me a 1955 CJ-5 out of a guy’s backyard for $300. My friend and I spent the summer cleaning the carb, installing a fuel pump (to the tank under the driver’s seat), and doing other repairs with the Haynes manual.

That’s the biggest damn 8-month-old I’ve ever seen.

Oh for sure. Absolut has relied heavily on marketing too (and they ruined the damn blue dog art for me). And to your point: once you create a multi-billion dollar “super premium” vodka, I’m sure a good deal does go into R&D *now* but the original spirit began as, mostly, a gimmick.

My favorite business story is that the guy who created Grey Goose was just a marketing genius. He saw that Absolut was generally the top shelf vodka available and said “lets just make something 25% more expensive with a fancy frosted bottle.” And now we’re up to our asses in “premium” tasteless spirits.

... Then you just buy a 911 - whatever flavor - and be done with it.

“Dismissed for failure to make plan payments...”

This article doesn’t even mention the worst part about repossession: getting a deficiency judgment against you once your car is repo’d and sold, when you still owe the money on the loan. I’ve seen people get judgments against them for $20k for a Hyundai that was repossessed & sold for $1,800. How do you even begin to
