Points deduction for lack of ‘American Pilsner Beer Product’ placement. So close to a perfect score, too.
Correction:
He (Trump) literally can’t afford to pay up. It’s doubtful he’s got the liquid resources for a cash payout like this (until he releases his tax returns I’m sticking to that assumption).
To be fair, you wouldn’t be stopping quite so well with 7 kegs in the back.
If the paint and chrome trim were in decent shape we’d be talking at $1,500, but without even a battery - $200 for a decent lightweight modern replacement that would last (don’t be cheap) - it’s a hard sell at $600.
Hungary has always been a snoozer when weather didn’t come into play. It’s not a surprise this year was processional - there was a bit I read about how statistically the Hungaroring was in the bottom tenth of passing on-track for F1 historically. A bit of rain would have made things fun, right?
And that bugs me,…
Depending on the year, the mega-slow 4 banger could have been a bit more robust. My ‘87 had the dual-spark ignition system which produced more than enough power for donuts and gravel-road shenanigans. It was only RWD and not a 4x4, so take that into account. That 4x4 running gear wasn’t exactly performance-oriented.
The second vehicle I owned was a 1986 1/2 Nissan Hardbody - what is essentially the first year Nissan had fully subsumed the Datsun trucks of old.
Since Brazil is later in the season I think he’ll have time to implement something a bit more clever. Why not wait?
I foresee the cost to bring F1 to Brazil rising steeply during the next round of scheduling negotiations. More than the usual 10% per year.
I don’t think anybody got it.
I find it a bit odd that in this whole piece, posted on a car/racing blog, that you made no mention of F1 or the area involved - Interlagos. Of course, longtime F1 fans recognize that name of the track they go to every year in Brazil for the F1 championship.
“When they (engine mounts) fail, you can feel it as difficulty shifting since the transmission and engine might not be lined up exactly as they’re supposed to be.”
To be fair, the doll parts displace some of the feces...
At least Russia practices organized corruption. I guess Brazilians need to grasp the idea that you can get away with massive graft and corruption but only so long as you exhibit some competence in maintaining the facade of responsible business practices.
How fast do you think bullets go? And yeah ‘bullet-proof glass’ is a thing, so work it out...
My head hurts just thinking about it.
As soon as I can find a way to bring fresh hot cinnamon-y churros in my carry-on luggage I might just make the trip.
Plenty of poor white families who could literally never afford this trip.
Plenty of same-era ‘estate’ German engineering on the old CL for quite a bit cheaper than that. Not too far back there was a BMW wagen up here for about half that cost, IIRC - 2001 versions of which listed for ~$4k or thereabouts.
