Officials didn't have enough to charge Wells with rape, so they settled for inappropriate Huggins.

Is it really The Worst Idea Ever? Or is the almost uniformly negative response to the plan merely a reflection of how much white people hate to talk about racism?

I had so much to say but don't want to type it all so I'll just say this:

If Wall had a father these would be 540 lay ups for sure.

Also scary, but for different reasons...

I agree.

and then the government will put another chip in your head to see when you're having bad thoughts so they can come and punish you by taking away your pudding.

To appropriate a phrase from an ex-Australian Prime Minister, any boss who sacks a worker for attending a protest is a bum.

Wearable cams are not only for the police. Take the Russians for example. Their police is so notoriously corrupt and inept that most of russians have a dashcam installed in their cars. People here can do the same. In the worst of cases where both parties wear a cam and conflict ensues, the evidence from both sides can

I know I'm being optimistic, and I hope for us all not overly so, but I believe the ubiquity of public recording, and all of the press around legal gov.'t spying will eventually ride a backlash of public outrage and lead to some real privacy laws in this country... fingers crossed.

If that is what you wish. No ill will. Have a great day and thank you for being passionate about something.

And wow! That is some appalling behavior. And of course the police union stood by their man.

First off, I was there during the protests in Ferguson. The police were not the ones with cameras, that honor goes to the real press and the blog "press" most of whom were either showing live footage or live streaming the event. The police were not there gathering images of the protesters.

Well, I do agree with you there. Ideally the cameras would be always on and the footage backed up and retrievable by an independent prosecutor, but barring all of that I'd prefer that there be some footage rather than none at all leaving them to say anything they like.

Once the body-cam (surveillance) toothpaste is out of the tube, there's no putting it back. Everyone clamored for body-cams and now they're getting them. We'll all have to live with the consequences. It's just like the CCTV cameras on every corner.

This is a great point. Eventually these will be used along with powerful computers to do real-time processing of license plates, facial recognition, "threat" recognition, etc.
