In this case, the paper assigns value to the account. Your employer may not assign value to your phone. So what? The issue at hand is that the paper in this case does attach value to its intellectual property in the form of its social media accounts.

I understand your point. I just think it’s very wrong. In my phone or phone number analogy, changing the voicemail greeting and populating the address book don’t convey the device or the number to him.

The hard drive analogy is sarcastic. The phone analogy is apt.
