Ohhh I definitely like your style and would definitely recommend giving the 2010+ XKR a look. (The earlier 4.2 X150's are fine, but if you read my brief review elsewhere in the comments here you’ll see I found my test drive in one quite a bit less exciting than my eventual 5L)

I love the thought of a JDM rally car

Haha I suppose everything has it’s price but I really have zero desire to sell it anytime soon!

If I did, I’d have a hard time letting it go less than $40k at this point, (Steep compared to what I paid for it, I know) ...and even then I’d know there’s really nothing else I could get for the money here in the U.S. that

Where there’s a will there’s a way! I flew to Texas after spotting my future XKR on eBay and really didn’t have much of a plan if things didn’t work out.

I had the owner drop it off for a pre-purchase inspection at a shop I found in his area, (Specifically one the owner had no relationship with) and headed straight to

Ha! Western Canada, Washington & Oregon have their fair share of JDM vans, but here in Idaho people comment on it all the time because a TownAce is really rare to see. (At first, some people think it’s the 80's Toyota Van, but then they see it’s more rounded-off and the steering wheel is on the “wrong” side, then the

You have some very fun taste in vehicles yourself! The X100's have been a bargain for as long as I can remember, but really more of a cruiser than anything. The shift in chassis design to the X150 was a huge departure from tradition and, if you want a dance partner, it really is night & day from the prior generation.

Wh

Thank you! I’ve never really looked to writing as something I would do professionally, but I just enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for cars! (Particularly the oddballs and ones that are overlooked in favor of more popular choices)

As someone who isn’t a diehard fan of any nationality of car brand, (My automotive tastes are all over the map) I’ll vouch for the XKR, in my personal experience, as being shockingly reliable and fairly-accessible to maintain for anyone looking to leap into something more “exciting” who may be used to playing it “safe”

Now playing

Ha! I went to the Tour de Force for fun back in 2018 and have attended the Sun Valley Road Rally a few times.

I’ve also shot fun videos at the SV Road Rally:

My dad bought an F-Type R (AWD) last year after years of monitoring 911 Turbo sales online.

Seeing how much I’ve enjoyed my XKR ownership experience is what swayed his opinion and he’s loved it ever since.

My ECU tune came from Vivid Racing/VR Tuning. For something so simple, it had a profound impact on the way the car behaves with virtually no downsides.

Yessir!

Aww shucks, much appreciated!

The man made some real bangers! But in fairness to critics he *did* like to make variations on a similar theme. (This is one such example; Albeit among his cleanest and best)

He basically found the ultimate “sexy” FR shape and tweaked it depending on the needs of the model, haha.

I should also note that my other daily-driver is an imported-from-Japan 1994 Toyota TownAce 4WD Super Extra High Roof riding on knobby off road tires with a low-range transfer case and manual locking hubs.

...it barely has 95 hp from it’s gas 2.2L inline-4.

Haha well thanks for the vote of confidence!

(Un?)fortunately, I’m pretty committed to my day job running media production at a relatively popular car detailing products company/YouTube Channel— Then, in my off-hours, most people can find me talking about cars and other nonsense on my Twitch channel that I just

I’ve owned a wide array of vehicles over the years, (I’m only 33 though, so no old-man stigma here) and the 2011 Jaguar XKR (X150 generation) I picked up back in 2018 is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. (Reliability and all) It’s probably the most slept-on car in this category. (Which is one of the reasons I bought

We can’t really be too mad about Ferrari’s lack of wagons when they’re one of the only carmakers on Earth currently producing an honest-to-god shooting-brake.

...Let alone a shooting brake powered by gloriously-mad, nearly 700hp naturally-aspirated V12.

It’s no wonder they obscured everything below the headlights, the internet is gonna get good’n’fighty about their approach to retro. It’s pretty strange seeing a 240z grille on a stretched 370z side profile with a clearly Z32-inspired taillight section, but I *think* I like it, even though it’s kinda jarring right

Good lord, the window/pillar arrangement is giving me flashbacks to the Kia Borrego...that’s what making this otherwise cool truck feel so incredibly “cheap”.
