Great point about Molly.  I think the reason Molly hasn’t gotten it is that she thinks she has This Cause that trumps all.  In a roundabout way, Lawrence’s lack of motivation helped him, because he had nothing to hide behind.

However, a scene nobody mentioned that I thought was superbly executed in a subtle yet most glaring way was how Lawrence was really considering his dad’s speech about putting in the work—and considering it with Issa. Having Lawrence’s dad show up and that discussion was everything. Lawrence was able to receive the information and Molly wasn’t when her parents told her everything hasn’t been unicorns and glitter.

Damn, I never noticed the parallel between Lawrence and Molly before, but now that I think about it, it really makes sense.

Can we talk about the continuity of this show? The series premiere was her 29th birthday and this is supposed to be her 30th. It’s said that Nathan has ghosted for a month.
