You could also say it was hybrid for the sake of Honda learning a lot in the R&D process and amortizing costs of new technology, so that now they can produce more affordable sports cars with tech they already know how to work with and have the necessary tooling for. Or is it not cool to have a positive attitude about

Auto manufacturers: There’s no demand for small, basic trucks.

UTV manufacturers: We have people lining up to pay $40k for an ATV with some windows.

I have to deal with a similar situation, and it weighs on me constantly, to the point I’m about to walk out of my job. I’m a white, straight-acting, cis-gendered, married man, and into cars, guns, UTVs, etc. I live in a mostly conservative area, and on top of that, work in the car sales industry(before that, the

I work at a Hyundai dealer and get to see Ioniq 5s nearly every day, and have seen them in every color, and despite that, the novelty hasn’t worn off. They’re just gorgeous and they show that the future of electric design can be both novel and beautiful. But honestly what Genesis is doing is just as impressive to me.

I agree, VW and Mazda occupy a pretty similar niche of being clearly more premium than other mainstream companies, but not quite luxury either, usually with a good dose of modern tech and not being afraid to do things a bit different. It’s probably no coincidence that I’m on my 3rd Miata and 3rd GTI/R.

That’s pretty cool because of the movie history. IMO though, rare combos only matter if you’re specifically seeking out that combo of options, or for some reason that combo is very desirable to a lot of people. For instance, I have a GTI which some in the MK7 community refer to as a “unicorn”. It’s a 2 door S trim

I actually managed to find my white whale car, it just took over 3 years of searching. What is it? A MK7 GTI. I know, I know, they sold tens of thousands of those! Yes, but I had a very specific combo of options in mind which made it possibly the rarest combo sold in the US, and damn near impossible to find.

I’m 100% with you. I’m a used inventory manager at a franchise dealer, and I do the majority of our trade appraisals, which means I drive A LOT of cars. Unfortunately, a solid percentage of those are Rogues. I think I drove 4 or 5 different Rogues in one day last summer. And you’re right, they’re the very definition

No, we need more 2 door vehicles, not fewer! SUVs, trucks, hatchbacks, coupes, all of them!

I’d be happy if side by sides were legal to drive most places. I certainly wouldn’t want to drive mine on the interstate, but it would keep up with traffic just fine and has plenty of braking and handling capacity for surface streets. Probably about as safe as a kei car or truck, anyways. And lots of the utility ones

I don’t get it either. This is THE Accord in my mind, and it’s easily the best looking generation. A clean, OEM+ look on these is just fantastic.

Well here’s another. The new WRX looks better than the last gen, and it’s not close. Yes, black cladding and all.

It’s significantly nicer. I sat in a Lucid a few months ago and it’s one of the only interiors I’ve seen in recent years that legitimately made me go “wow”. It makes Tesla interiors feel like a cheap economy car by comparison.

Fair enough. In that case it’s probably going to be too tight a squeeze.

How big is your son? I’m 6' tall, 210lbs and daily drive an ND Miata RF. It’s perfectly fine. I have head room, I’m in a comfortable seating position, I can move my arms, etc. Personally, I love the “cocooned” feeling, and it adds to the comfort for me. The small interior responds very quickly to heat or AC as well,

I believe the major mechanical parts are pretty solid, but yes, they’re notorious for spending lots of time going back to the dealer with various issues. The early ones like the 12C were especially bad. I think it was the 650S that had a hilarious issue where if you parked the car outside in the rain too much it would

This also doesn’t look like a Chevy Bolt, so there’s that.

I’m hoping they come out with a Touring pack that has a smaller wing, along with matching leather and alcantara upholstery. The car is already pricey, what’s another couple ground for a nicer interior?

I barely registered these exist until I actually drove a couple of them that came through my work. The late 2000s-early 2010s versions are actually quite nice. They’re surprisingly fun to drive, owing mostly to being compact in a way that no SUV or CUV is these days, the kind of small where you can reach over and

Built like a city bus, they were. I’m with you. Just absolutely awful, inside and out.
