I get out to Council Bluffs a few times a year and usually try to meet up with fellow gearheads when I’m there. The local Shelby Dodge Auto Club chapter is a good group of guys, while mostly into Mopars, they usually have an appreciation for anything with wheels.

Detroit might be a little better than here in the Chicago burbs. The CarQuest by me and the Napa aren’t bad, both have counter people that have worked there for decades. The Autozone, however is a nightmare, both the advice I’ve heard given out and the questions I’ve heard asked.

That’s a Buick?

But what about those that don’t drive a Bentley?

I think that disclaimer on #7 needs to be a little bigger. The guys there who know what they’re doing are few and far between and usually keep their mouth shut. If the guy at the parts store is offering to diagnose your car based on an OBDII code or what they always sell I would be wary. If they seem overly confident

About 10 years ago (maybe more) the Kobalt tool line was manufactured in the US by Williams which is Snap-On’s industrial tool division, they were good tools. You can find some of them on ebay, but the stores have long since switched suppliers and now everything is imported.

Mine has been in the last 2 daily drivers, probably 7 or 8 years now and still love it.

I keep a 25” 1/2 drive breaker bar in my trunk with a 19mm socket that fits my lugs. Much easier than trying to get rusted lugs loose with the little lug wrench the car came with. These go on sale at harbor freight for $9.99 so that plus a socket is cheap enough to carry one in each car.

Kenosha County Fair in WI is another one. It’s where I took my wife on our first date.

much like those headlight bezels I see my post is faded gray, Can i get resprayed in black please?

Always loved these trucks.

Interior pictures are nice to have because dealers like to list cars on Autotrader with a “manual” trans that have no clutch pedal and a shifter that says PRNDL next to it. Maybe because you have to pull the lever into “D” on your own?

I rebuilt the engine in my Dodge Shadow Turbo 15 years ago (it’s still running strong), but since then have rebuilt a few others so that’s not a big deal anymore. I’ve done plenty of suspension work, transmissions, electronics and wiring, interior work and some light paint/body work.

Found it! Honda Civic with a SPEX ELF kit.

Sounds great, as someone with grease permanently beneath my nails I’m looking forward to the Garage section and more tech articles in addition to all the great stuff already published. Also would love to one day get moved out of the grey on here.

My wife was T-boned in her 2013 Dart, 7 of the 10 airbags went off and it wasn’t too far from that inside. White leather too so it all looked like a bunch of pillows inside.

I know, not quite the Utopian future I imagined.
