To be fair, he has zero input on this being a limited time release. At best, he may have come up with the “celebration” angle himself (or with NOA's marketing team). All he gets to do is select what kind of cheese goes on the shit sandwich.

Their statement VERY INTENTIONALLY reads like this is a sure thing. It’s not “you can try to get a refund for it,” it’s “you can opt to return it if you aren’t willing to give us time to fix things.”
I disagree. They knew full well how that statement would be interpreted by most people. Further, it makes no sense to suggest to all of your global consumers to get a refund when a large percentage won’t be able to get a refund without some kind of special dispensation. Their tone suggested a solution where there…
When you say you’ve literally set up a unique email to help users who have any issues GETTING the refund from their store? Then yes, it’s super scummy.
It’s the part where they say if you have any trouble getting a refund through the usual means contact them for help and now they’re saying they aren’t offering anything above the usual means. Strangely people thought helpmerefund@cdpr was actually going to help them get a refund.
It was 100% disingenous. If you apologize for fucking up and then say that people can ask for a refund, the implicit suggestion is that because you fucked up, people can expect a refund, that exceptions are being made. The fact that the statement had to be clarified in an investor call shows that they could have specif…
I don’t buy the “it was never intended for last gen consoles” excuse. This game was announced well before we ever knew when the PS5/XSX were officially coming to market. “Last gen” was always on the books, and they should have designed for the lowest common denominator in the first place. I mean, they made redengine4…
It was a scummy way of omitting information.
CDPR just makes one disingenuous statement after another
That second score sounds completely ridiculous. They might as well give the game a score for “if it gave me a pony.” I am okay with the concept of re-reviewing games with frequent updates somewhere down the line, but that of course depends on the review outlet seeing money in doing that.
Could it be that in order for these reviewers to have their scores “stand the test of scrutiny” once the initial release window is over, they’re baking in some level of expectation that the technical issues are going to be resolved?
The most alarming thing here is how readily we accept that games are so broken at sale. Would you accept a car that just didn’t work when you bought it because “well, I bet in 3 months this car will start *every* time and the brakes will work more than 90% of the time”?
The review will be here for a long time, but those bugs are going to be fixed.
Angry vocal “Gamers” are an exhausting lot of emotionally stunted morons.
It’s somewhat disappointing time and time again to see that tech and gaming enthusiasts exhibit the same behavior as fanatical zealots.
Yes, it would have been an article because if it hadn’t been on Twitter it would have been on Facebook or Discord or a forum or a blog or any other service that allows people to comment publicly. Ellis’ objective is to rally his supporters to what he thinks is the righteous cause of hitting back at Bioware for what he…
You are not an intelligent person and nobody values what you have to say.
Can I ask you to stop talking about entitled persons. As I have ego issue, and seeing people targeting myself like that cause some anxiety. It would be kind for you to change your language in order to care for me and people of my community feelings. After all it won't ruin your day to use a different word.
You lost me when you said “differently abled”.
Nobody has misappropriated the word. It has been used in various ways since the 1500's. People were robbing each other blind in the 1800's... Not to mention Homer’s Odyssey.
