I believe that so long as people are willing to kill themselves and others in the name of God (whichever god you believe in) that we will never know if the government has made contact yet. I think that until we’re at point that fanatacism for religious reasons is no longer a threat, we aren’t ready.

Thinking way long term here but would sea water that then drains into the ground back into the water table purify itself through the draining process? I know we have to evaporate the water off and leave the salt behind but would there be some sort of natural filter or mechanism that would remove that salt as well?
