Yeah, there aren't many people on that list I'll be telling my grandkids about. I will talk to them, endlessly, about Paul Molitor. Luckily, he's already in the Hall.

Yeah, Belichick is an asshole too. Big time.
Fans. Nobody wants the game to end when the final whistle blows. They want to keep thinking about it and talking about it, but who are the ultimate observers of the action, the ultimate insiders who know more than anyone what's happening, what has happened and what will happen? The players.
Yeah, well, they've got really strong feelings, and reporters are easy targets when you're ticked off and uninformed. I just find it so ironic that those reporters are asking questions on behalf of fans, and the fans get mad at the reporters, not Lynch.
He's someone who has a lot of feelings, but doesn't put much thought into them. He equates "feelings in my head" to "logic", and has been told that logic is unshakable, therefore anything in his head is absolutely correct.
No, there's no irony. I'm happy to move the conversation to a website that does not share click data with reporters, or to a forum about bodybuilding, or to a bar, or to your living room. The conversation will be the same no matter the website.
That's a different argument then.
Nobody is stopping him from saying anything he wants in response. I mean, do you really think that when a reporter asks "Was this an important game?" they're literally asking for Marshawn Lynch's evaluation of whether this was an important game, or do you think they are attempting to get him to discuss the Seahawk's…
I brought it up, because I don't see how it's relevant. The question is how do we decide who is going in this year. Ty Cobb isn't on the ballot this year. If you get that part, why does it keep coming up?
No, not at all.
He's not on the ballot this year though. Nobody said the HoF doesn't have assholes in it, or at least I didn't.
No, I said point to the logic you used.
I think it has to be more than just their actual on-field accomplishments — it has to have something to do with their legacy in the game. McGwire's legacy in the game will be sitting in front of a Congressional panel and being completely unable to answer any questions because he would incriminate himself.
Well, if there are no limits, it will inevitably lead to creep. People will get in because they're pet projects of a particular writer (I'm sure that happens already, but it would be worse)... It may be arbitrary to say "Pick the best 10 players of this era...", but it'd be meaningless if there were no limits.
It's a subjective decision that we place in the hands (in theory) of highly-informed people who can make decisions that statistics can't.
Is Ty Cobb on the ballot this year?
Are you under the impression I give a shit what you think? You seem to really gravitate towards people with utter disdain for you. Why do you think that is?
Here, I just wrote you a headline:
As long as we all understand what's going on, I'm fine with it. He's an asshole. He doesn't give a shit. Fine.
*snicker*
