No. Good reporters don't think about clicks. It's not our problem. Someone else does that. I write about things that, in my judgement, are relevant to the reader.

Isn't the whole thing pretty subjective? I mean, who was better, Clemens or Randy Johnson. If it was a matter of numbers we wouldn't have voting.
Great. I guess.
Possibly, but in that case, for far less than $100k, he could've gotten himself some media training, or a PR person who helps him avoid dangerous topics/questions. I'm sure the Seahawks have tried to provide both of those things for him.
No. Not at all.
I kind of did say that, didn't I? I said, if all things on the field were equal, and we have to select HoFers based on other criteria, I think these guys are assholes and shouldn't be included.
And I feel like your expectations (and anger level) are way too low. To each his own.
OK, Marshawn.
So, it should be an entirely one-way conversation? People should hear from Marshawn Lynch, when he's ready to let them hear? Do you conduct any other relationships in your life like that? Fans are to be seen but not heard? They should only speak when spoken to — scratch that, they shouldn't speak, just listen?
Well, if we think there are too many quality baseball players than clearly we have to come up with some other metric, since they may all be equally deserving.
Who said anything about removing people from the HoF? Why would you do that?
Look, if you want to make an argument that professional athletes are so thoroughly trained by their handlers to give nothing but bland non-answers anyway, and Lynch simply doesn't want to give a bland non-answer then...
No. Not really.
I didn't say he cheated.
And the fact that he has spoken to other media outlets doesn't make those 12 reporters in the post-game interview any less a conduit to address his fans.
What's all? He was an asshole. How does that change whether or not we should let MORE assholes in? If anything, it's an argument that the asshole demographic is already well-represented in the HoF.
No, I compared the way Dylan told off the press to the way Lynch told off the press. What I was trying to accomplish was making the point that — as far as telling off the press goes — Lynch isn't particularly funny or interesting. Set aside whether he's right or wrong to refuse to talk, he's not even good at not…
You didn't ask me if Ty Cobb was a bigger asshole. Did you?
Well, technically, he does have a responsibility to answer something. He was just fined $100,000 for not doing so. He literally has a legal responsibility to interact with the media.
A) just because there are assholes in the HoF doesn't mean we should try to intentionally select more.
