I love Denis and I know English is not his first language, but I wish he could have phrased this better when he said, “It’s the first time I’ve experienced it where I’m watching one of my movies, and I have a moment of deep gratitude, of deep joy.” I know it wasn’t meant to slight his other great films, but taken

Interstellar is a pretty memorable score (for me at least). Once I hear the notes from the film’s main theme, it makes me weepy because it has such emotional undertones of a father’s love for his daughter.

And David O. Russell’s next film too (along with a lot of big name actors).

I have yet to see one thing Anya Taylor-Joy has been in so I have no opinion on her. But agree with you on Timothee. I don’t get why Hollywood has such a thing for him. I don’t find him attractive (maybe young people do) and there’s nothing particularly stand-out with his acting.

Even commercials for brands/products mostly turn to non-voice actors now, e.g. Jon Hamm for Mercedes-Benz, Brian Cox for McD’s, Leslie Jones for AT&T, Will Arnett for Reese’s, Donald Sutherland for Simply Orange/Almond, etc. I admit I think the Jon Hamm and MB partnership is a match made in heaven because he’s really

Presently in Hollywood, Anya Taylor-Joy is to female roles what Timothee Chalamet is to male roles — they’re in all the movies.

This Graham Norton episode was good too, especially this part with the fly (watch till the end for his cheeky comment).

You speak the truth. O’Dowd >>> other Chrises.

I had only read some comments on Twitter about his speech after the fact. So I watched it on YT to see what all the commentary was about, and it was definitely embarrassing to watch. I don’t know what his reputation is generally like as a person in Hollywood, but the first time he told the orchestra to pipe down was

Looks like you and I are in the minority so far at AVC of those who didn’t care for Crimson Peak. I think I also didn’t care for it because of the icky relationship between Jessica Chastain’s and Tom Hiddleston’s characters.

Did you like Crimson Peak? I remember being so hyped for it, and then was greatly disappointed.

I had no idea she was going to do a play! Good for her. Maybe a change of scenery from doing film and television will get her back on track to being a perennial Oscar loser (I’m saying “loser” with love, emphasizing the idiocy of the Academy for never awarding her talents).

I had never even heard of “Bitch” so I looked it up just now on Wiki. I know nothing about the book Nightbitch and will be curious to see how it differs from Bitch. Maybe Amy Adams only thinks she’s a bitch at nighttime? I’m surprised that this movie was first announced in the summer of 2020, before the book itself

I only watched her turn as Lois Lane in Man of Steel and thought she was used well there. But after reading synopses of the movies that came after, it definitely sounded like her talents were wasted.

I think it’s better to forget about that one!

I sincerely hope this movie is the last of Amy Adams’s string of forgettable roles. After Dear Evan Hansen she has Disenchanted and the rumored Nightbitch, which honestly when I read what that movie was about I wondered if I was reading an article in the Onion.

I’m really looking forward to Parallel Mothers. I adore Volver so this Cruz and Almodovar reunion has me intrigued.

I, too, needed something to watch on a plane and was glad I gave Spy a chance because it was hilarious. A lot of great comedic acting, but my MVP was Miranda Hart.

“Come on, Denis. You didn’t feel deep joy watching Sicario or Prisoners?”
