YES, agreed. I first got online via CompuServe in 1985 or so, then moved to BBS before the web, and it was soooo much more civilized. It's like we all knew we were partaking in a new frontier of communication, and everyone for the most part was respectful. Not anymore.

Thanks for posting this, I sent one to my friends in Liberia to help screen for fever during this Ebola crisis, and they need more. Perfect timing.

That character HAD to be modeled after Nancy Pelosi.

"Thank God"? Why don't we ever hear "Thank Allah"?

Same here, that one has stayed with me 30 years later. Sooo creepy and disturbing.

Great post! Wow, what a blast from the past. I saw this when it aired and was blown away back then. So much hard work and creativity for such brief shots, no CGI for help.

I actually managed to track that down at a local video store 20 years ago after seeing the sequel Outlaw on MST3K! The first film was better, which isn't saying much.

Agreed :D

EPIC soundtrack.

Same here, haha. Those were truly terrifying creatures...made no sound, just showed up and dissolved people with acid :O

HEY NOW. Just kidding, it was cheesy but still has charm and the Glaive was a wasted opportunity.

"Take a look at this guy. Take a gooood, long look. As you can see, THEY JUST DIDN'T CARE!"

That episode with Mitchell never gets old, Joe Don Baker was reportedly very upset with the boys after it aired according to the old episode guide book. I wonder of us still have VHS tapes from when it first aired back in the day?

Agreed, that "documentary" was very well done. I especially like the 70s-era "Mystic Occurrences" portions, which were made to look like "In Search Of..." right down to the faded, grainy film style. Always wondered how many people that show fooled :D

Same here back in the 70s, especially after Star Wars came out at age 9 :D Entire drawing tablets would be gone through, each page filled with different ships and battles. Do kids still even draw?!

Same here, I started with a 1TB second drive for storage of photo and video editing projects, it's amazing how big those files get in HD...shot very compelling GoPro video 2 years ago walking around slum areas of Monrovia, Liberia for charity purposes, and haven't been able to edit them due to old tech. Think I paid

Exactly! I just built a new PC for the first time in 10 years, and chose the 512GB Crucial MX100 for the OS/apps drive. Blazing fast! The thing boots up in 10 seconds, and everything loads almost instantly. Been waiting 30 years for this kind of tech :D

#facepalm Please don't ever vote again. Or procreate.

Terrific article. I remember connecting to CompuServe in 1985 for the first time, after having used BBS's for awhile, and the euphoric feeling of worldwide interaction was amazing. Even then, people were careful about what they shared...although today's social media is designed specifically FOR that. Seems like many

Thanks so much! They know many around the world are praying for them, and are extremely grateful. Looks like more countries are sending in medical resources now, which is good news :)
