Melissa, I get her leaving and hope she finds success elsewhere. She’s really talented, especially doing voices and characters, often nailing impressions to a tee, yet for whatever reason, SNL would barely use her.

I don’t think Athari pissed anyone off, but I can see SNL not being a great fit for him. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him elsewhere sometime soon.

Yeah they never really let her loose, even though her Daily Itineraries were pretty entertaining. The writing was on the wall when they had Chloe Fineman do an impression of Melissa.

Yeah, which I found kind of odd, since Villasenor can do a ton of different characters, whereas Aidy Bryant had about three - two accents and herself.

Melissa was always funny but SNL seemed to only really put Aidy Bryant as the main woman in almost any skit with a famous person.

Is Michael Che sticking around?  I thought there were indications that he might leave, especially since he has his own show.

Melissa Villasenor wasn’t a shock, given how vocal she was about not getting airtime last summer. Maybe she made enough money off those JC Penney commercials that she feels comfortable moving on. Alex Moffat is a funny guy, but he seems destined to play generic 4th lead in a few movies, then do a sitcom that flops.

Not surprised Melissa Villaseñor is leaving, she was bizarrely underused but it’s been a crowded cast. Mmaybe she’ll find her own path post-SNL, like Jenny Slate has. Sometimes it’s just no the right fit.
