People seem to be having trouble with understanding what A_Spade is saying, mainly because there's two different kinds of film that we're talking about: film for SHOOTING, and film for PROJECTING.
What he's saying is that Kodak will stop supplying film for filmmakers to shoot with, because while there are dedicated cinematographers who swear by it, the bulk of Kodak's profits is in the developing and printing of film for projection.
Yeah, this is the part that sucks the most, that Kodak could well not be able to survive this transition, that we would lose film capture because the other half of their business in prints is going to tank.
That's exactly what i was thinking. 4K projections of film prints are pretty damn good, and you still get the grain and warmth of film (though, no cigarette burns and hairs and scratches, which some people like).
I could've gone for a... beefier Batman.

I hope there's some alternate dimension out there where I get to make a living just observing octopi (the making a living part just as important as the octopi part). And I hope that alternate me is happy, cause I think I would be.

I'd kill someone who tried to pacify me with 40 cents.
About 15 years ago I was OBSESSED with getting myself a laser pointer (at the height of my Star Wars obsession), but at the time they were at least 50 dollars each, and we were poor, so I never got to afford one (nor a Darth Vader helmet... note that both these items were for sale via the Johnson-Smith "Things You…
Until ING Direct offers smartphone check scanning, I'll still stick with BofA so I can deposit my many (yet irregular) checks from freelancing. The first of two final nails in coffins came when ING checking started offering check writing.

An awesome joke to play on them would be, when the door opened you tell them:
I hope there won't be like a trend now where the bad M:I movies are the even ones (aka the ones with long-haired Cruise)
Well, that'll be the one after this backup city.
IIRC AT&T's tracking isn't really real-time or even post-dated time accurate tracking the bandwidth. More likely you thought you'd only used 15 mb prior but had actually been using another 200 megs and AT&T didn't publish the tracking until a few days later, all at once.
I don't stream, but also I'm in wifi range 99% of the time. Only twice did I ever have to upgrade to the 2gb plan when I've only been using the 200mb plan.
