Apple going ‘clean’ could either be - ok let’s make it family friendly, or ‘let’s deal with adult topics without being overtly excessive in filming and showing them’. I wouldn’t mind the latter approach. There’s so much excess ‘adult’ material on tv now it’s kind of played out. I mean, people being tortured, abused,

With all that said, perhaps the loudest critics of that movie were also just racist, misogynist fucks

I’m 10 years your senior, likely have more comics than you, have seen every Marvel movie, and will likely watch all of the Disney+ shows.

I’d argue that TLJ’s issue is that the entire movie is conscious attempts to subvert expectations, which in and of itself is extremely predictable. So while I agree with you that consumers are at least 50% to blame for what’s being pushed on them (us), I don’t think it’s entirely fair to present TLJ like it was our

When The Last Jedi came out it was actually different, it actively tried to undermine and gore the sacret cows of the franchise.

What’s really interesting is George Lucas is just sitting there.

Makes me feel better about my own writing pace.

Stephen King has said he tries to write 2000 words a day. With manuscript formatting, that’s four pages.

I imagine that he is notorious for writing, editing, re-writing, re-editing, and doing it as he goes. Some will push through a first draft just to get the plot of the book done, and edit later. But I imagine he’s being careful because he had wound up with too much to tell and is trying to resolve it all.

I was pretty sure they were Thanagarians. Man, I’m running out of stuff to watch right now. Krypton is over, possibly for good, Elementary had its series finale last night, nothing else is showing up until October.

This show was so fun if you weren’t twitching at every ret-con. Next year looked like it had hawkpeople and Darkseid (I looked again, they really look hawk/thin human with wings, not heavier parademons)... This is why I rarely watch shows on SyFy... they never get a chance to breathe.

Perhaps Bezos was a fan?

Well, you know what they say: here today, Krypton tomorrow.

At least it will make it easier for me to catch up on Krypton some day. heh.

Wow I came away from Valerian with a completely different take. The performances of both her and... the guy were completely room temperature. In fairness, I’m sure they were having to deliver most of their lines to a tennis ball on a stick, but still.

She did fine in... were we watching the same movie? She did horribly in Valerian, a wooden performance from both the mains who seemed more like bro/sis than love interests. It was so hard to watch, especially since I was extremely hopeful for the movie.

Uuuuuugh, no, please.

He actually doesn’t look much older than he did in Revenge of the Sith (in fact, I think they might’ve aged him up a bit for that and Attack of the Clones). I think they could really set it just about anywhere in his timeline.
