He will need that prize money if he only eats Whole Foods.

Ha, I was going to make fish tacos last night, but couldn’t due to circumstances...so I’m making them tonight. The irony!

Kudos to you good commenter for picking up EXACTLY who I was referencing! Didn’t know how many would get the Col. DeBeers similarity....

For whatever reason, a lot of 2nd and 3rd year associates at my firm get “poached” to be in-house counsel by clients who hit it off with them. I want to tell them that most 2nd and 3rd year associates don’t know jack shit and making them general counsel of your start-up is bad idea. But I don’t.

The “5 Count” pin was one of the greatest heel gimmicks of all time. Bundy is the classic example of the 1980s “Monster Heel”. Just look at his career curve from 85-87. He absolutely destroys jobber to the stars S.D. Jones in “record” time to put himself on the map at the 1st WrestleMania. He main events  WrestleMania

Yeah, I’m a lawyer and I’d never say that in a negotiation.  That guy sucks at his job.

If you read the counter notice to Twitter, their strategy is clearly to portray themselves as the party that is working in good faith to negotiate a resolution, which makes miel the unreasonable one. The “anxious to settle” language is part of that strategy, and makes sense in that context.

What would you expect when your degree is from Hollywood Upstairs Law College.

So King Hippo=King Kong Bundy, Von Kaiser=Col. DeBeers of AWA fame, Piston Honda=Ricky Steamboat and Super Macho Man=.....uh......hang on.... I’ll think of it....

The first time I ever saw wrestling I was maybe 5 and over at my then-girlfriend’s place (What? Alison was my first kiss!) and we watched the Hogan-Bundy Wrestlemania match. I was enthralled when his skull was split open. When you’re a kid it’s all real. He was out by the time I started watching wrestling later on but

I hope Miel changes her mind about not fighting the counter-notice. Seems like she can easily find a lawyer to do it for free given all the attention. It might not be necessary if the bad publicly leads the attorney to withdraw the counter-notice (not bc Barstool has any ethics, but because attorneys are legally

I want to talk more about this general counsel who thinks it’s a good idea to begin an email with “We are anxious to settle this matter.”

Same here. I felt that the characters in that game borrowed heavily from the wrestling style of personas of that era, with King Hippo, Von Kaiser, Piston Honda, and even Super Macho Man (!).  Probably part of the reason I was in love with that game.

As a WWF and NES fan kid, I was (and still am) convinced he was the inspiration for King Hippo:

Sometimes I think it’d be really awesome to be Giannis, and make a mockery of the competition on a nightly basis.

Giannis is the gyro we need right now.

It’s no autocorrect; I am very aware of his injury history.

Broke Lopez might be my favorite autocorrect ever.
