That show had William Shatner sing in an episode. I remember because I used the opportunity to give my little brother a history lesson. ("This guy made a record in the 70s singing like that and people bought it.") So maybe the show's creator would rest easier if he knew that.

Clearly the code wasn't being enforced at UM either. But it doesn't mean that students CAN'T be punished with disorderly or unbecoming conduct academically without having their legal rights impugned. Taking crib notes to an exam isn't illegal either, but that doesn't mean the university can't punish you for doing it.
