Calling The Boys (or, for that matter, Preacher) “puerile edgelord fantasy” is like calling Judge Dredd or Marshal Law the same thing. The whole book is a skewering of superhero conventions and the impact of US-orignated pop culture overseas, particularly in Britain.

If anything, this just cemented my dislike of Ezra Miller’s ADHD-ified portrayal of Barry Allen. Grant Gustin OTOH doesn’t just inhabit the character, he owns the role.

Could not be more excited for this! Valiant always deserved more recognition for their universe and heaven knows the Big Two need some competition. This looks like great fun - like The Transporter or Crank but with superpowers - and will def be going to see this one on the big screen.

Um... criticisms of both movies centre around “pacing, characterisation and internal logic,” just as you say above. The reasons why and specific examples may differ (and may differ between people too), but the focus areas of complaint are exactly the same.

This probably means that she was required to eat...traditional British food and pretend to enjoy it.
