Yay for all our rescue babes! (One of my three :-) )

Oh, yes, I’ve had some difficult dogs, as well. My first rescue, Casey, my soul mate, took three years before she would look me directly in the eyes, or ask for affection. She was in a high kill shelter, covered in fleas, ticks, had ear mites and worms and kennel cough. Not house trained or people trained. Incredible

Thanks :-) I only had one nasty reply, and that was from someone who made a lot of shitty and incorrect assumptions about me and my intentions. Which I promptly took care of.

That is fantastic!

Haha, I never measure up to Skye’s expectations! She’s just turned 12, and is from New Orleans, though. She’s a tough cookie who saved herself after Katrina. She was found on I-10, bloated from water, having swam herself to safety. She made it up here to Virginia Beach via PETA. We got her three weeks later. She’s the

Same, even though I’m a gray. I kinda knew when they hadn’t posted by 7 pm that something was up. What should be a wonderful time in her life, the birth of her daughter, has been instead a sad nightmare.

Aster’s face could be Skye’s twin! And the tail! She also has stumpy legs and herds; she’s the boss of our two 60-pounders, and every other dog in our neighborhood. At first, the vet thought sheltie/dachshund mix, but her ear hair is actually long and curly like a spaniel, so he thinks spaniel/dachshund, maybe. It’s

Tough shit. I use proper capitalization, spelling, and punctuation in my texts because I am an olde. Nothing is more irritating to me than trying to decipher people’s half-assed texts.

Hah! I’m not good at frosting the sides of cakes, so doing the swirly thing actually made it easier, and because it goes on thicker, it covers any unevenness or mess ups. Looks fancy, is easy!

I do love some cake! But I also enjoy decorating them to look pretty, and my favorite thing is a little Wilton kit of tubes and metal tips for making pretties. I actually did a cake for Easter last year where I did all the buttercream icing in big swirls, using a star tip. It was lovely!

Awww, thanks! For Thanksgiving, I have different leaf cookie cutters that I use to make the top. Sometimes, for Christmas, I use the leaves and roll tiny balls of dough, and make holly berry sprigs all over the top. I’m not fond of cooking, but I do love to bake, for the sheer creativity of it.

Psssst...don’t tell anyone, but Pillsbury pie crust is perfect. There are a few others here who have said the same, and they aren’t lying. I’m usually a cake person, but sometimes, a pie is pretty delicious, especially a warm apple pie on a cold winter’s day. :-)

Gasp! I’ll have you made know that I make the caramel myself, and labored greatly over that pie! It is always delicious. Now, don’t get me wrong; I love cake. I could quite possibly live on cake. I make a beautiful lemon blueberry cake with cream cheese icing. But I think there’s room for both. I mean, why not both?

Pies have decorative crusts (mine are seasonal, and very pretty) or delightful streusals. They do not have icing. Or frosting. Or cake. This is disgusting to even contemplate.

What cutie patooties!! Do you know their breed? My Skye looks similar, but she’s a Katrina rescue, and we don’t really know what she is besides adorable :-) The vet says part spaniel, most likely King Charles.

Awww, what an adorable baby!! That photo is Skye with her summer shave down; her hair gets quite long and unruly in the colder months.

They were beyond adorable! That little girl slept on my boob for a long time, and her little puppy breath was the best :-)

I met these cream labs on the beach this summer, and got to hold one in the shade under my very fortuitous umbrella while she napped for an hour or two!

Smye, Allie, and Lucie say hai!!!

Someone should have told this cat.
