As we found out! There was a baby by the path, and we had stopped to look at her. All of the sudden, she started trumpeting, and mama started running. Right at us. We’re yelling at the driver to haul ass, and here comes mama, faster then we thought something of that size could manage! We laughed like hell afterwards,

Here’s a photo I took in Kenya. I can’t imagine how stupid this would have looked had I inserted myself into this. I have a lot more just like this - beautiful, right outside our safari truck, and NO ME in them.

Aw, shucks. Thank you :-)

Spiegleman, Cajun Boy...life was sweet.

Right? Pre-kinja was glorious.

Yay, hello! Just came from the beach, and here you are!

I know exactly how you feel. It’s frustrating as all hell, isn’t it? I admit I left for a while; I was (am still) being stalked here by a psycho, and I needed to disappear for a while. It keeps me from contributing as much as I would like to, because there doesn’t seem to be a point, and I’m not going to beg to be let

Grays unite! I look at it as flying under the radar. I’m okay with that :-)

Exactly. And that’s not only true for the staff; heaven forbid you stray from the commentariat with a differing opinion. Don’t toe the line, and you take the chance of getting skewered from both sides.

I have to say that as someone who has been around here for eight years, I’ve seen many groups of commenters cycle in and out. There’s a tight knit group here right now, but that’s always been the way it is. After a while, people fade away, and a new group takes over; that’s not to say there aren’t longtime people

No, we shouldn’t get banned for criticism leveled at horrible posts. Writers should be able to take what they get when they make their work public.

For me, the author actually came into the comments and bitched me out and told me I was banned from Jez, even though she couldn’t touch me at Gawker. But this was all before kinja. When I went to Jez, there was a notice that my account had been suspended.

The Geithner post blew this place to pieces. It’s the reason for the childish posts over on Gawker right now about the cat, and the link they tossed in at the end of the wild fire story. What a mess.

I got banned once on Jez for something I said on Gawker that an author here didn’t like. It happens. They’ll be back, I’m sure.

The shitshow that was the Geithner post blew up everywhere. Gawker writers are having a hissy fit and posting immature crap. Writers and editors are doubling down on their own bullshit. Fun times, fun times.

It looks like a lot of people have had their accounts suspended. Sigh....that’s how this place operates. Hopefully, she’ll be back!

And the level of immaturity going on in the Gawker posts by their own writers is beyond idiotic. It’s embarrassing. They’re humiliating themselves and making themselves look like utter fools at this point. But hey, this is nothing new; my second banning here was for something I said on Gawker that a writer here didn’t

She got banned, other people got banned, comments were being removed left and right - this has been a total shitshow. Despite being gray, I’ve been here since 2007 (back when you had to audition to be a commenter, had a star and everything!), and I’ve seen some crap go down around the Gawker universe, but this has by

Without this shirt, you are nothing. Get on it.
