I feel like 90% of conservative grievance comes from guys who are upset to find themselves getting treated the way our country has historically treated people of color, women and people without any real power.

I find it hard to believe a 70 year old needs or wants the advice of a car blog/aggregator on how to spend their money. 

Screw the new cars. No one is going to think your guy is cool in one of those. A 60's muscle car is just too cliche. I’d go with a top-down classic. My first choice would be a Jaguar XK140.  Followed closely by an MGA.  Or for something a little newer, Porsche 914-6.

I'm sure there's stuff to do outside of the parks, but I don't want to spend any money in shithole Republican states south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I walked out of the dealership with my 2018 for $21,042, and adding the $600 JB4 gave me ~60hp, 58 torque. The swaybar makes an enormous difference in handling around corners, and I paid $80 for it, installed myself in 20 minutes.

I had a 1972 Ferrari Dino 246GT. You absolutely had to baby it between 1st and 2nd until the engine was fully warmed up. And don’t even try to shift from 2nd to 1st until at full stop. After 5 minutes of driving, everything’s good. Cars are quirky. Some issues you just have to work around.
