I have a problem with night vision. My iris will dilate out enough at night that I am looking through the portion of my lens that had the cuts made. This results in blurry vision and a lot of light rays coming out from the source of light. Stop lights and tail lights (reds) are the worst.

I wore glasses for 30 years, tried contacts - never were that comfortable, then went the Lasik route. What the doctors don't tell you, and I've confirmed this with many, is that you are trading off your near vision for better far vision. So now I see great at distances but I still have to wear reading glasses for

If I was in one of the lead cars behind the pack of motor cyclists I'd feel fortunate for two reasons. One, I got to witness a pretty amazing thing and second, after the exhibition cleared I'd have open highway ahead and certainly feel the "need to speed". Yeehaw. But .... I'm from Colorado and stuff like that

Last time I checked, this is jalopnik.com ..... not jalopnik.eu ..... so gtf out of here. LOL.

Why is there not a rev limiter? And if there was one, could it react fast enough to prevent this kind of damage?

Yes, and as any VW owner knows that "special" tool will cost you your left nut at the local dealership.

Yeah, so get the frick out of my way.

Just bought a 2004 on Copart auction for $4750. Over a 100K miles, runs great (twin turbo V8), but OMG does it suck the gas (getting about 15mpg).

A leisurely ride from coast to coast on my Specialized Rock Hopper. If it's my last ride, I want it to last!

Nothing like 8 shades of gray and 40's music to make you feel nostalgic.

I owned an 83 Spider (correct spelling) first and then was inspired to buy a 91 Alfa 164S. What a bad decision that was. The 164S suffered from many reliability issues including an air conditioning compressor that locked up and almost started a fire and finally some sort of oil blockage which caused an engine seize.

Does anyone else think it would be fun to watch video submissions to Jalopnik of reader's reviews of their own cars?

Seems like all of these recalls and associated loaner cars is going to put a lot of used cars on the market.

I was provided a Tiguan as a loaner car when my local VW dealership screwed up a simple new tire install (broke valve stems - which turned out to be quite unique). I actually enjoyed it, thought it would be less responsive then it actually was. The most fun was mashing the throttle down at about 20 mph and listening

Is that really the stock air cleaner?? I had a 63 Mk II (with the 3.8L engine) and the air cleaner was a huge thing but didn't look anything like the muffler assembly shown. More the standard round, two snorkel variety.

I've read the book - in my opinion it is poorly written, grammatically and syntactically challenging, structured poorly and more about the races then the man.

Personally, I'm waiting for the Letbee

Last week I had scheduled to replace the tires on my VW Beetle. I normally get about 28mpg around town (1.8 Turbo engine). Just as a test, I inflated the tires to 40 psi and ran a tank of gas through it. I got 34mpg on that tank. Probably not that safe to do, but it just shows what an effect rolling resistance has.

Since the EBay bids seem to be non-binding, I think we should all get together and bid up every vehicle that Autodynamics lists for rediculously high prices thus scaring away any "real" buyer. Then of course the highest bidder could default on that offer as they are "non-binding". Would teach Autodynamics a valuable

I would think most of those people at the fence now have unrepairable hearing damage.
