How many germs do you think are on your water bottle one hour before it looks gross enough to chuck? Also, some people find benefit in having a hard-sided bottle.

I take “anecdotal evidence” and interpret it as “data points.” One data point doesn’t mean much of anything, but thousands of them pointing in the same direction can indicate something.

EVERYTHING works if you’re Bill Murray.

Haha, fair enough. I said Democrat-leaning when I should have said liberal-leaning. It just conjures up images of a furious hipster letting his online blogosphere followers know that “Things need to CHANGE.”

Don’t get murdered, of course, but if you could have a few close calls and post them here that would be great.

I know I missed the deadline, but I need to write this story down before it gets too far in the past. Scary, paranormal, or just strange? I still don’t know. You be the judge.

Here’s the problem I see: Most of the reasonable stances that I think would find acceptance through large parts of the country don’t fit on a picket sign. You’re either pro choice “A mother can do whatever she wants with her body,” or you’re pro life “That baby is a living being and you have no say in anything.” How

To be fair, “These designs are not where I want them to be yet” probably wasn’t the entire body of the e-mail.

I was at work when I read your comment. I couldn’t stop crying so my boss fired me. When I got home I found my wife in bed with the mattress store sign-spinner. She said it’s because of my sudden mood swings every time I think about the LifeHacker comment section. Also my dog ran away.

That sucks that NO ONE responded. I guess it depends on the field and/or company where you interview. Big HR departments that conduct dozens of interviews every day would be less likely to give a helping hand. Small companies (which is what I prefer to work for) might have a better success rate, but YMMV. Regardless,

Fair points, and well-presented. I withdraw my criticism. I still think comparing an Anker to a Fenix or Nitecore is a bit of a stretch, but I think I understand where you’re coming from better. And maybe I was in a cranky mood when I posted in the first place. Either way, thank you for a polite clarification.

Crap on a cracker! That’s a hefty price for a backpack. I generally try to decide what something is worth to me before I click through to see the price. In this case I thought “I could maybe justify $100-120 on this thing considering how much I travel, as well as how this would serve as my go-to work bag from day to

I like this question a lot, and as someone who has done the interviewing far more people than I’ve BEEN interviewed I can see how this would work wonderfully.

I’ve done lots of interviewing like lostintheswamp said, and I agree. If you nailed the interview you might get something positive out of them. If I hated you and think you’re a bad fit I’m more likely to give a non-committal shrug of an answer just to get you out the door. As a followup to a rejection via e-mail I

Please, I just bought a new laptop and I can’t risk ruining another one with my tears of anguish. How could one hope to stand against such eloquence and incisive wit? Have a heart and take mercy on me!

That’s a funny and inherently ironic statement coming from someone who has risked his life defending freedom. “Do it my way or don’t do it at all” sounds very much like the type of thing we send our troops to fight against. Unfortunately such irony is lost on most people, which is unfortunate because it gives rise to

So, if someone was in the market for a Chevy Cruze would you tell them the Lexus ES is better? “I know you came here looking for an $18,000 car, but did you know that Lexus makes much better cars than Chevy for only $40,000?”

I thought the upside down flag was a symbol of distress. It’s sometimes used as a form of protest, like “Holy crap, a psycho and a liar are our only two choices for president, we’re doomed,” but I’ve never heard that it was anti-American or disrespectful.

To be honest, I’m surprised there even ARE swing states or swing voters anymore. I think politics have gotten so polarized that it seems like you pretty much line up with one team or the other based on the issue you care about most. It’s not like the major issues change sides in any meaningful way. The two or three
