What a well written, engaging response. You’ve given me several thoughtful counterpoints to consider. Thanks for furthering the discussion.

A feature I still wish stuck around was the “fresh air vents” on my buddy’s ‘68 Dodge Dart. Even cruising along at low speed, you reach down and open the little door and cool fresh air would pour into the cabin (I think it must have been ducted to a cowl intake where high pressure is generated).

I can’t speak for Toyota facilities, but I have worked for two big players in aerospace. One with a very strong union (in fact it’s the Canadian UAW, Unifor) and one without. Both companies need the exact same talent set in their shops.

Raph’s comment “Maybe they should unionize! Seems like a win-win.”

There are plenty of examples without big manufacturer’s help that have shown the negative side of unionization as well.

Alright. Cars idling sucks, sure. But what’s the total emissions issues with cars idling in traffic vs heavy trucks idling all night long? Before a storm, our DOT plow trucks will get out to spots on the highway 8+ hours before the storm, sitting there idling the whole time. Construction trucks/vehicles are generally

Cop cars have huge power draws - they’re often discouraged from turning off all the hardware, even on their lunch breaks.

Of course, your average automotive hybrid system has enough battery to make the problem moot.

Some K9 units have to run the AC to keep the dig safe.

Shhh. Let me set the hook and see where this fish goes.

Sir, it appears your facetiousness detector was not brought in for its last calibration. Please attend to that before expressing further umbrage on the internet.

That is a very nice car, and your Iowan nephew should be proud of his work!

Better door gaps than a Tesla

Not a kit car guy, not really a Cobra guy but, research shows this is actually a good price for this. Definitely check out the motor for damage. And, dude. Steam clean the engine bay before you put it up for sale. Cautious NP pending getting the history and a mechanic’s checkout. I mean, if you WANT to spend north of

Maybe. Or maybe the Miata driver’s quickness about changing lanes did the trick, and the horn just made his opponent cringe off onto the shoulder after setting up to take the right lane anyway. Can’t say I can really tell from this video.

The 6th generation Ford F-series gets my vote, particularly the F250s. These are on the short list for the best looking trucks of all time. They were exceptionally durable (I occasionally see these still used as work trucks in 2021). Plus, they were easy to modify. Some of the 4x4 models could fit 37 inch tires

The greatest Pickup is the one you have.

REPU!

I wish it wasn’t, but it is an NP. Sadly.

Hold my kombucha.
