The word "need" is the important one there. Could it handle more power? Sure. Does it *need* more power? No.
I have a couple track days under my belt in an FRS, and a few more in a Scion TC with friends in FRSs. On a shorter course, only drivers that were obviously skilled could keep up. On a longer course, you played the game of passing someone on the back and then moving over to let them by again on the front straight…
Unfortuately, no. 🙁
“I’m not sure the car’s existence alone is problematic absent any other motivations.”
Fiat 500.
I’m not sure why but these seemed like the baddest MFers out there in my teens
Honestly, anything is better than what it was. Obscuring the name with avante garde styling forces you to think the word “Kia” rather than spell out K.I.A. in your brain. “Killed In Action” is not something you want associated with your cars.
Counterpoint:
Uncarpeted, un-stylish, rubber coated Trunks/hatches. Seriously, anyone who’s ever been to the beach knows that the carpet in the hatch is really only good for trapping sand for 2-3 years. Instead of carpet, give me a hatch that converts into a van-style bed when I fold the seats down. No carpet, no easily scratched…
I too, would like to achieve 30highway mpg while burning tequila!
Both are dumbass ideas.
How about instead of blaming others, we blame the people actually responsible for their actions?? They stole the car, they drove recklessly, they threatened others with a gun. All of this is illegal and 100% their fault. Period.
“Chief White also said these performance cars should arguably not be street legal, nor in the hands of anyone for that matter.”
YES and YES. I’d go as far as saying I’d like to see the USER (auto or gun) take responsibility of their own actions. Gotta stop the blame fest around here.
A quick check of some listings (and there are more of these out there than you’d think) shows the asking price is at the lower end of the market. Yeah, I was surprised too. I’ve owned a couple of Mustangs and have attended a lot of Mustang events. Mustangs from this era are still popular among Mustang fans.
Like a Triumph Spitfire, but $110,000.
Stupid question but why do people so often run through a red light AND NOT LOOK IF THERE MAYBE ARE ANY VERY LARGE VEHICLES APPROACHING AT COLLISION COURSE ?
Fk ppl are dumb.
Where do you live where a bus drivers give a damn about stopping in an intersection? They are the worst offenders for pulling into an intersection they know they will not clear before they have a red light and are parked in the middle, blocking traffic.
