Wait. So you’re using a plan no one at all is calling for to explain why a plan that is not that plan would not work? That...makes no sense. Don’t bring up why taxing people at 100% would fail, that is not a feature any person is calling for, and it certainly doesn’t demonstrate that raising the top marginal rate

I don’t understand this. This would be covered by taxes which is something most people pay. It’s not like this is going to be some monthly bill. Every paycheck I get has a “Medicare” line item. I imagine that would go up.

“This will be great if we get it done, and if we don’t get it done, it’s just going to be something that we’re not going to like and that’s OK and I understand that very well,”

“This will be great if we get it done, and if we don’t get it done, it’s just going to be something that we’re not going to like and that’s OK and I understand that very well”

I don’t see anything wrong with this situation except the killing statement which is ridiculous and not announcing that he was a police officer.

I’m thinking he’s Tomato troll. It fits one of his personas: the slow burn from “well-meaning ally” to full-on racist.

He’s a coach in Texas, according to one of his sob stories. All he needed was to pass an 8th grade-level test and *boom* History teacher. Calling him an authority stretches the meaning of authority to the breaking point.

This was an enormously popular claim with the likes of Glenn Greenwald, too. I don’t think the Dowds and Greenwalds of the world feel shame, though, so they show no signs of regretting their bullshit.

Well spoken.

Maybe after seeing that Gorsuch turned out to be exactly the dangerous far-right ideologue some of us warned about

I’ll admit it, I vandalized some stuff when I was a yout. Young and drunk is rarely a good combination. But a historical marker for a boy who was murdered. Jesus. At long last, have we no sense of decency? (Yes, that is a rhetorical question, sadly)

Let’s not forget about his Russia connection.

first I’m like omg:

It’s almost like this is a scary cult of personality gone very wrong.

Reminder for anyone who thought Gorsuch seemed like a reasonable person for the supreme court – remember, that was his public job interview. OF COURSE he went out of his way to appear as charming and likeable as possible (and even then flopped).

Also that idiot doesn’t understand how Supreme Court works. Also, it’s letter O not number zero. You zero idiot you. 0000000000

UK Update:

“The justices, in effect, said that foreigners with ties or relationships in the United States would not be prohibited from entering the country. But, those applying for visas who had never been here, or had no family, business or other ties could be prohibited,” The New York Times reports.

I feel obligated to comment on Kinja for the very first time to point out that the Isle of Man (the tiny oval above the red streaks) is not actually part of England, or indeed, part of the United Kingdom at all. It is a separate legal entity, known as a crown dependency.
