I’m disabled and the Army wouldn’t take me you pissant of a troll. So I use my brain to study and learn and try and make policy that gets less people, American and not, killed.

Mattis is far from a hero, but he deserves credit for taking this honorable stand. Trump is about to let a lot of people suffer so he can claim he fulfilled political promises. Plus that letter is tailored to piss Trump off. He didn’t compliment or fawn over him at all.  Read more

This is an atrociously stupid decision given what is happening on the ground in Afghanistan, just like the Syria decision but somehow managing to be even worse, as the security situation on the ground in Afghanistan is worse. Read more

There were some recent articles/research contradicting that view, which dates from the ‘90s if I remember correctly. Records of the Syrian who first told the story to said French translator, and apparently traveled with him to France, were found. Read more

Historical point here; at the time setting it in China was the equivalent of “far far away”. The story is tied pretty heavily into Levantine culture, which makes sense as the earliest version came from a Syrian, and the setting in China shouldn’t be taken literally.

Icke is absolutely trash, and this merits accusations of anti-Semitism, and I say that as someone regularly slandered by unethical “pro-Israel” hardliners due to my stance on Israeli policies. She crossed the line, and I’m not letting her hide her bigotry behind a dishonest appeal to concern for Palestinians.

This schadenfreude is excellent. I’m staying off Tumblr today as part of the protest, because all of this is utterly stupid and will kill the platform, but it’s nice to see the incompetence is still rolling in.

All the real conflicts of interest that regularly get ignored by law enforcement and they decide to suddenly swing 99% the other direction on this? That’s pretty dubious. But I don’t really see what political need is serviced by this. Surely it looks worse to toss him off for flimsy reason than to let a few likely Read more

Tumblr has effectively killed their site. Many of the users they need to sell ads, people like me who’ve wasted time on that site since 2010, aren’t necessarily running porn blogs but absolutely will lose something if nsfw content is banned entirely. Half the friends I’ve made on Tumblr run nsfw blogs. Everything from Read more

Coulter, a literal embodiment of toxicity in human form, is incapable of understanding that minorities have no problem with white men who aren’t actively awful towards them. Being a white guy is easy. If you’re not actively being racist, sexist, transphobic, etc, then people will give you a chance. You run the Read more

Oh it gets better. Someone tracked down one of those reps and asked about his vote. His comments on Yemen were roughly “I don’t know a damn thing and it didn’t belong there and the resolution wouldn’t do anything”. So he; Read more
