And multiplayer is not something that adds to an addictive atmosphere? This focus on addictive qualities as a reason seems suspect. IMO, the game didn't have much to make it any less addictive to begin with.

I'm pretty sure the thing was already out there at cost, which is pretty much par for the course with MS/Sony in the initial stages of a console's release. It's not so much just "losing" the R&D cash either. That money is gone. The question is about losing more.
By what definition exactly? Doesn't Activision Blizzard have a board of directors and investors/shareholders who they need to appease? I mean, pre-merger with Vivendi it was probably entirely independent, but now it seems less so.
Good article, but I don't agree that full stop radio silence is not an option. The comparison with your personal situation doesn't necessarily hold since you are somebody commenting on created works, and I do agree that in that situation it is indeed not an option.
I think for a game as popular as ESO it might be financial suicide to offer a free trial this early after release. Having to cope with an enormously hyped influx of temporary players will drive server costs through the roof. If anything, you'd want to wait for the hype to die down a little, as this will spread trial…
Given the whole net neutrality situation, plus the increase in the amount of download limits and throttled connections across the US I've seen posted here, I'm inclined to think it could actually go back to a situation where physical media are financially more viable than they currently are. Streaming services might…
So wait... Carmack works for them and when they won't let him work on VR stuff anymore, he leaves... and now they bitch about him working on VR stuff. Sounds legit.
The reliability really is a stickler though. If it's like you say, I would at all times need two phones because I need to be reachable at pretty much any moment anywhere. Of course, you could carry the free package and use it if it's working to save costs on the other plan, and if you use a really cheap phone to de…
If I was in your situation I would be running cables throughout the house. Any particular reason that's not an option?
That's hilariously sad. And it's not even a legitimate problem like not having enough money up front to buy something you need right away, at a better quality that will last longer and actually save money over time.
That's what they said about high elves in TERA. Until they met Butterface.
Maybe multiplayer game and split up?
I only just got the game and played through it on Hard/Expert for the most part, starting with a Barbarian. Only after I got to level 70 and joined some friends on Torment 1 did I really have to start rebuilding the character from scratch. Now I have a pretty good balance between damage and survivability focussing…
I think it's important to note the distinction between "game engine" and "rendering engine". This really is just a rendering engine tech demo. A "next-gen" game engine would consist of a bunch of new tools that allows developers to do all sorts of things harder, better, faster, stronger.
The game we pushed to the amazon market for this actually works like that. If you've bought it on the amazon store before, it's the same app and so you'll already own it.
I actually only just started playing D3 when they released RoS, and got the expansion after getting to 60.
I've come to realize that I am unable to decide if people with big smiles have attractive faces or not, and by extension I actually think big smiles are really, really ugly.
The high cholesterol due to eating cholesterol is a debunked myth afaik. Does the process of making the tea egg add more saturated fat to the mix rather than a regular boiled egg?
I don't see anything there that implies irresponsibility. Perhaps you're misinterpreting the "not" in the last sentence to be connected to "responsible" (which it isn't). Although, I agree the grammar of it is... unfortunate.
Nah, I generally just don't talk to anybody. But yeh, you're totally right.
