The comparison isn't exactly fair since a similar game experience is hardly readily available on consoles (maybe now you understand why that's the case). How did FFXI handle stuff on consoles, I wonder? That's the only real example of a console MMO I can think of.

Perhaps this will feature Han Solo.

Not just that part. The Solus is the whole outer circle.

Isn't that what the whole solus part is for?

I'm none of the things in the Social space, but I'm all over the Solus space. Depending on my state of mind/mood I can be any of those four things.

Whatever floats your boat man.

I enjoyed the games' first half or so, but later in the game it became really tedious. This was mostly due to the fact that getting to a place was a pretty major part of the game's difficulty and would thus be nearly impossible by yourself at later levels. As you might have gathered I didn't play with other people too

Just a few thoughts about your setup. You mentioned overclocking, did you try turning that off? I found overclocking my CPU actually decreased my overall gaming performance. Perhaps the PSU can't cope with the extra demand, or the CPU starts dropping clocks due to increased heat? Does your system have proper cooling

Runs great on my 8GB 1033, HD6970 and Phenom X3 (which is seriously bottlenecking the GPU). Also the HDD's aren't very new, so that's not helping much. All in all, I'm not getting 100% of my GPU power, and I can still run it at maximum settings averaging 30fps.

Eve Online does a lot of these things very well. They've been slowly growing their user base. Last I heard it was over 300k active users, but that was over a year ago.

Is the price tag really surprising people that much? I thought they wanted larger scale releases for these up-and-coming devices that should rival the depth of dedicated handheld experiences, and perhaps consoles in the future. The price tag comes along for the ride.

Here's to hoping I can snatch my desired name in time... Should probably have some backups in case it doesn't pan out :P

Well, resolution wise they seem accurate. And they're not scaled down from high res shots because you can see the jaggies. They do appear to be somewhat anti-aliased, which might not be available on consoles (although FXAA could like this), and they could be using some more advanced filters/textures than the console

A whole new avenue of trolling! Sidelane distractions!

Although I am seeing more at once, it's a complete clusterfuck of distractions for my eyes. It kind of reminds me of Timeline. People love timeline.

I smell a shop contest.

The mention of "shock doctrines" reminds me of a book I read by Žižek. "First as tragedy, then as farce". It's an interesting, and slightly convoluted, read in which events that have changed society significantly are mentioned. It's been a while since I read it, but it's basically that a situation is created primarily

Nope, not alone there. Colleague of mine hates it too, and he's the biggest MGS fan I know. It looks fun to me though. As long as it isn't canon, I guess everybody's happy?

It's something we've seen on iOS as well. People will pay extra money to finish the game faster. It's completely counter-intuitive, but it works like a charm.

I'm super happy when companies choose to use Bink Video Player for their startup videos, because I can just go look for them and remove them and never have to look at them again!
