Woah - album on repeat in a dorm?! I readily admit to being a serial offender of listening to an album or song on repeat, but basic human decency requires headphones for anything more than one play per 24-hour period.

Go bang on those drums. Try not to let yourself get frustrated with what you used to do versus what you do now and just enjoy making some music, whether it’s offbeat or not.
