They are lovely little cars. Someone had the gall to drive one on public roads in Florida(!) to a Cars & Coffee this past weekend. How dare they drive such a car! It should be stored in a climate-controlled blast-proof vault which the owner enters but once a year to gaze upon their beautiful machine.

The orange is very nice, but... the Nouvella Blue Pearl does it for me. Someone down the street from me has one in that blue and it’s really easy on the eyes. 

About a year and half ago, we had a car in the shop for an extended period and got an afflicted Focus as a rental. We drove it less than a mile before turning around and bringing it back. It was downright dangerous to drive. The first time is bucked when shifting was so violent I thought we got rear ended.

Is there a slight chance he did this on purpose to avoid the possibility of being blocked in by a car in the next pit box? Maybe? I want to believe. 

If it does happen in/near Miami or anywhere in Florida, be sure to come to Tampa, specifically Ybor City, to get your Cuban Sandwich. Said sandwich originated there. Getting one from anywhere is like getting a Philly Cheesesteak from North Korea.

He drove that Sauber well beyond what it should have been able to do. If you saw his season in GP2 (now F2), this pole isn’t a surprise. He was faster than Vettel in Australia but was ordered to stay behind. The kid will be a multi-time champion.

I remember reading that Brawn thought everyone else was sandbagging but everyone else was like all like “Um, no. We have no idea what is going here.”

If I recall, they also smoked everyone in pre-season testing. 

No. Every male and female racing driver could equally kick the crap out of me. If they did it with me blindfolded, I wouldn’t know the difference.

I’m aware. It just would be nice if they did it.

GO DO IT! Daytime launches are hard to photograph from a distance. Many ND (or a single really dark one) filters are needed with a high f-stop. It can be done, but it gets tricky. I took both of these from St. Petersburg, from the same area overlooking Tampa Bay. We are a big gray dot. These were taken in an area that is red on the site. The first is the comet that came by in December and the second is some star trails and meteors in the hours before dawn.

If you don’t mind sharing, where do you live?

Is there a secondary pit about halfway around for the drivers to pull over a vomit from motion sickness? But seriously, this would be incredible to drive on. 

You’d be surprised at far you might not have to drive. The trick isn’t always finding the darkest spot to shoot from (though it helps). If you can find a pretty dark place and shoot towards an area with little light pollution, you’ll be good. Like if there is a giant nature preserve two hours to the north and not a…
