Let me lay it out for you: The problem was not with the way you used the word "proved.' One could say [sic] after your usage of the word was weird, because, well, it sounded like an incoherent sentence. But, tThe problem with your original post is that is assumes that victimhood is determined by a court of law. That

Sigh, sigh, sigh.

Ooooooh my goodness. There can totally be a victim before a case has been "proved" [sic]. Take an intro to Philosophy or Law class and save us all the trouble, please.

When you are raped, anally or otherwise, you are in a state of immediate shock and trauma. And you may often be confused about what happened to you. It makes perfect sense that a rape victim would contact the college administrators prior to contacting the police.

Learn about victim psychology. It might be enlightening for you.

Do some research on rape-victom-psychology, particularly as it pertains to why rape victims may or may not go to the police. Then comment on the weakness of supporting the charges or, as you call it, "click bait." But learn some stuff first.

Don't talk about rape cases in terms of "initial hooks." Just don't do that. Ever.

Signing it and posting it.

There are many, many ways to "behave like a victim." And not a single one is the "right way" F&*&(& this guy.

I'm so sorry that this happened to you. A billion times sorry, honestly.

Also, hate horror movies based on killing teens. Also hate extended scenes of sexual or ANY violence on screen. . . .it just becomes abusive. But I do enjoy seeing women and men get justice. I'm a little obsessed with it.

I agree with many people on this thread. I think there are just different ways these things affect us. I would find Law&Order SVU to be too triggering, but I loved Top of the Lake, as well as many other stories about victims confronting their attackers. I think it's very cathartic for me. . . . or at least feels

It's good that your boyfriend is team Duncan! He probably values good, upstanding, would-never-dream-of-paying-two-homeless-people-to-fight kinds of guys. And thinks that it's not important that underneath all of the volatile, wall-punchy layers of Logan there is a beautiful man child who just wants to be loved!

Why can't she say "girl crush?"

Um, I have no idea what to think about the truthiness of this or not.. . . . it's the first time that I've seen anything about it. But, what that girl described was not consent. Not in any way. If she told him what he was doing was painful (which she claims to have done), and he did not stop doing said painful

I want to post on this thread. . . . but it has taken such a hostile tone. I hope I do not sound hostile in what I am about to say. . . . I completely agree that Gabrielle Union should be allowed to express her own experience on her own terms. However, I have to also agree with the original poster that the choice

Oh man, Petals on the Wind was my favorite. Way less boring than Flowers in the Attic. That being said, it is probably objectively really, really terrible. I read it 15 years ago, when I was 14, with under a blanket with a bag of reeses peanut butter cups. One of my favorite teenage memories. (The way I read all

Oh! Was this book good?! I'm looking for something to scratch a Hunger Games/Divergent itch. I saw this one recommended on goodreads. . . . .but I'm a bit dubious re: the headless, shirtless man standing over a burning city.

No one was "blaming white people," for goodness sakes. Claiming that there may be an element of racism in either a crime or the way that crime was prosecuted and/or adjudicated is not "blaming white people." If all we called "don't blame all the white people" every time someone claimed that that some white person
